No, I’m saying since they’re all so close to the threshold, what happens?
-
So schools in 4A such as Anna, Kaufman, Sulphur Springs that all have around 1225 will stay or will they move up?
-
How exactly does the realignment work, is it every 2 years? so 22',24',26'? So schools that are over the limit will move up next year?
-
If Vandegrift goes down to 5A, and CP goes up to 6A, Vandegrift will most likely have a few medals lol

UIL 4A Area C 2023
deank10 replied to J-Mike16's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
North Lamar is much stronger than they have been in years, so I think they will be 1st in Area C, with Sulphur Springs cleaning up (they are pretty messy right now) placing 2nd, and Lumberton placing 3rd. It would be awesome to see Lumberton on top, but I just don't think it'll happen with SS being a good fake 4A (essentially a 5A in terms of kids marching), and NL being better than they have in the past few years -

I march at Canton, we were able to watch Lumberton in the dome last year, it they were really loud, we all had them at 7-8th in prelims when we were predicting, hoping they see success this year! -
Essentially what schools like Argyle, and now Celina do. They either have everyone standing still with lots of visuals playing really hard things, then march for a little without playing, or just isolated notes, then stand still again and do it over. Sometimes they switch it up where they march and play (which Argyle tends to do a lot more than past years now, which is good for them). Other times they have half of the band doing a feature (standing still with visuals) and half of the band marching a big form. They do this so that there is more variation, and therefore their scores get boosted. Another thing is that they have more soloists (obviously easier for one person to play good, versus a group of people of people to play nicely and together)

burnet and calallen and canyon beating celina is quite crazy. Celina has taken the argyle route, we’ll see how it pans out for them, but i think sulphur springs will be the top half for sure, as well as china spring. Davenport was a new school that had a great program next year, excited to see what they do.
