  1. Yes I completely understand that I marched as well. However, those loud bands were not moving or marching as good as other softer bands. They also had a few heros sticking out. I watched Celina and yes they are soft but I saw the win coming. Their brass tone is heavenly and their marching as a group and individually is prestigious.
  2. Like I said I am not a judge and wasn't able to see all the bands throughout the day. However, I don't think it is a coincidence that all the performed later in the day and were the loudest aside from Celina got put on top...
  3. I normally would but the judging today was not it. I do not agree with placements especially in area b and c. It seems like judges simply picked the bands that were the loudest and later in the day. That's not how you judge a contest. Hopefully judges at state are competent. Anyhow, I do feel like breaking top 10 this year will be extremely hard. These bands are getting better and better every year. Good luck to everyone especially those new comers like Aubrey and Farmersville.
  4. They got it. The bands this area is sending are super good. Unfortunately, there's only 7 spots with more deserving bands. Some of them will end up empty handed...
  5. I guess that's true. I'm excited for Saturday none the less. Good luck to everyone and don't let the rain get to ya
  6. Why does UIL need the scores by like Monday. State is a whole week later it should be fine, or is it something to do with judges. It's pretty dumb in my opinion.
  7. Would they make bands march with a little rain? Woodwind would be risking their instruments...we'll see what they decide but uil always seems to choose the worst way to do things
  8. Wylie wants that spot super bad. They did pretty good duncanville. Lock in people
  9. Less than a week left...Unfortunately, some awesome bands are not going to make the cut there's not enough spots for everyone. I just hope the judging sends the best bands to state. The judging was been a little wonky not too bad but still. I'm afraid a band may miss the cut because of incompetent judges. I'm unsure of my predictions now because of that as well. Anyhow good luck to everyone. If there would be a time to lock in it definitely would be right now. This week will determine who makes and who does not.
  10. I also agree. It's awesome that argyle did not cheer. I've always loved that about them because of the way the band carries themselves. I remember going up against them when I marched and they didn't cheer even whenever they swept area. It's honestly an amazing accomplishment that it only took them 2 years in 5a to make state. That is unheard of. Melissa who moved up with them hasn't even made area finals and anna got almost dead last. I'm not sure how they run their program but they're obviously doing something right. Soon enough they will win 5a and add another championship. Honestly congrats Argyle y'all deserve it. Y'all always were the band I wanted to see at the end of the season because unfortunately my season always came to a close at area.
  11. My thoughts are that state finals will be composed of area c and area b with a couple of outliers. Area c has celina, sulphur springs and farmersville leading the pack with all those three bands being capable of taking home the medals. Area b has panther creek and china springs leading their pack. However all 7 bands coming from area c are capable of making finals since north lamar and canton will be in the lower half. It's frustrating but at the same time fascinating how some areas can just dominate. It also shows how deep area b is since old area b bands will be making state this year who haven't in a while or ever. And the bands that stayed will be more free to make state. I'm hoping for some new finalists this year and medalists.
  12. Yeah well they lost farmersville who is now in area c. I have Farmersville in my top 5 maybe even a silver medal. They aren't too clean right but the progress their making with the absurd show is remarkable. I'm not too sure they will top both sulphur springs and celina at area but maybe one. I do think thanks to how clean their getting and how difficult their show that by state they will surpass both celina and sulphir springs. Now I'm basing that off the constant progress they have been making if they let off they will not do that. But yes area b still has a of great bands from old area b and some of those I think will be our new finalists due to area b always being a bloodbath. Thankfully a few bands have moved up or to another area so those bands that were stuck can advance now.
  13. I'm also excited especially because we will see some new finalists this year and some new medalists. Again region 25 will be the best the state has to offer therefore area c is now the most competitive. I'm excited how area b will hold up against area c this year because area b lost all their bands basically.
  14. I haven't seen lumberton but I agree. The powerhouses seem to be struggling. North Lamar and Canton are shadows of their former selves. I wouldn't be surprised if one of then misses out on state.
  15. Celina is looking good but I also think those bands are closing the gap. Everyone else has much harder shows. I do believe if Farmersville gets just a little cleaner and more in tune and balanced Celina goes down without a doubt. We will have to wait until area to see if Farmersville can pull it off but they are extremely close.
  16. From the shows I have seen I have farmersville on top. I have yet to see celina
