i think adding this rule would be great, adds opprotunities for great solos by either a drum major or another marcher, imagine a mello switching to a flute, wouldnt that be great to see

probably indiana bands, even though they practice a lot the 8 hour rule can still give them a decent amount of time to actually compete which all they really need is a good texas bands rehearsal schedule like any leander or lewisville isd school, probably could include round rock, although those are just (i believe) consistent national champs / super regional champs

agreed, it was so unique and not like other Texas shows, of course, all shows are unique in their own way, but this one was just crazy in terms of uniqueness (I guess lol)

Gatesville's growth has also been crazy, 2021 they were state alternates, 2024 they were state finalists, not even being 10th place either, probably by the next realignment it will be CS, SS, Davenport (if SS and Davenport don't move up since they have the highest numbers [1200+]) then those schools + Gatesville could be fighting for the podium

if celina and panther creek both move up, then the chanpion battle will be CRAZY we've always had bands who've repeatedly won 4A (argyle, celina, probably more), so if celina and pc move up, (possibly davenport as well because their band was massive), their will only be a few bands that actually have a really good chance at winning state like SS, CS, Canyon, Randall, etc.

no, heres a list of bands that 3 peated state championships before celina (regardless of class currently, but im looking at 4A archives) - Canton - Dickinson - Georgetown this marks celina being the 4th ever 4A band in history to 3-peat

i wish we could bring this thread back, i know theirs some fun facts here somewhere, like gatesville making state finals for the first time in school history
