Garland/New Braunfels Don’t get me wrong, Clear Brook is amazing, but I only see DS/Wylie taking those top two spots, Don’t know who’s gonna take the first, but I’m leaning towards dripping springs.

Really nice area competition this year, I was sitting in the crowd as they were announcing who got what, really nice surprises!

Agreed wholeheartedly, the thing about cy-ranch is cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, if they can get really clean next year, I see a very successful future for them, but considering that they didn’t do too hot last year at area, it’s nice to see them back in finals after a few years. Honestly I definitely Expected cy-fair and bridgeland to be top 2, and while I was leaning towards cy-fair to win, I knew bridgeland winning was definitely a possibility. Cy-Woods did scare me a bit aswell, they ended up beating cy-fair in prelims, and I thought they could’ve potentially won area I. My predictions were, 1. Cy-Fair 2. Bridgeland 3. Cy-Woods 4. Seven Lakes 5. Tompkins 6. Jordan 7. James E Taylor 8.Cinco Ranch 9. Katy 10. Cy-Ranch

Some of the shockers of his event: Bridgeland wins over Cy-Fair to become area I 6A champion, Tompkins placed third ahead of seven lakes and Cy woods, Seven lakes places 5th, a new finalist in cypress ranch appears booting jersey village out of finals.

How we’re langham and cy ranch?

I’ve heard cinco was really nice, I can’t say much about the other two.

Thoughts on bridgeland?

Just curious, I’d love to see how many people think cy-fair would be a bubble had they been able to attend, it would’ve been nice to be able to see them perform here.

That top 3 I completely agree with, I definitely see cy-fair winning the area just like last year

I think the last time they were performing like this was in 2018? I member when I had looked at those results and was stunned that they had beaten cy-fair in prelims.

Area I while not producing state finalists(😉) always has the most interesting results IMO.

I was going to drop my predictions, but I don’t know who to place in this 10th spot. Langham Creek held a victory Over JV at some contest, and this year it seems like JV has dropped a level. Not to mention langham has been looking pretty darn good. Then Cy-Ranch had some very nice musical scores at BOA Katy, while also placing ahead of Cinco Ranch and katy. But Jersey village is also a consistent finalist in this area.

I could see langham creek over JV.

100% agreed! Most groups will try to do lots of cleaning this week, but usually it comes down to the run the day of area. Sometimes all it takes is one bad run and that can be the end of a season for a band.

I was thinking the same thing, Cy-Woods coming out at 1st place out of everyone from area i at state was a bit of a shocker, they tend to do better late season so that makes me think that they could upset some bands here and end up medaling.

With that being said, I’m gonna share my area i predictions here: 1. Cy-Fair 2. Bridgeland 3. Cy-Woods 4. Seven lakes 5. Tompkins 6. Jordan 7. JET 8. Katy 9. Cinco Ranch 10. JV/LC/Cy-Ranch

Well, Cy ranch isn’t typically one of the cleanest groups in area i but I’d say they have a somewhat decent shot at advancing to finals so it’s somewhat likely. If we’re gonna see some new finalists this year I’m looking at them or LC.

Is there anyone specifically you’re thinking that could come in front of them?

I could see 10th going to jersey village, Langham Creek, or Cypress Ranch, I feel like JV has slowly moved their way down in finals for the last few years and is now having to fight for their spot in finals. It could even go to one of the other bands on those spots right outside of finals I didn’t name, but if I were to narrow it down I’d say it’d be most likely between those 3.

It’s not impossible, but it’s something that no one would expect lol.

I wonder if cy - woods will manage to sneak their way up into the top 3?
