  1. Also of note, Beaumont United drops to 5A.
  2. FWIW....you can kind of get a feel for the direction UIL may be heading. New Football alignments announced Feb 1st put Waller in with Bridgeland, Cy Woods, et al. While Magnolia and Magnolia West in with Tomball, Klein, et al.
  3. 👍That’s what I said.
  4. Tomball ISD doesn’t project that for the current High Schools (even with the West relief). However West will open 5A and stay that way until at least 2030+
  5. Kind of irrelevant since Area I 5A is North and Eastern Houston (Galena Park ISD, PNG, College Station, New Caney ISD). Geographically it would make more sense to go into 6A Area F, guess we'll see when they formerly announce new alignments. Also need to consider timing of new Conroe High School, new Tomball West High School and the new Waller High School as they arrive (wouldnt shock me if Waller and any newly built Waller High School go to Area I due to Bridgeland proximities)
  6. Magnolia and Magnolia West jumping up to 6A in 2024....assuming they jump into Area F. Should increase the odds for 6 bands coming out of this area now...
  7. Not to change the subject, just something that came to my mind over the weekend. Something not talked about much is the Leander PASA enrollment estimates over the next 5 or so years. I didnt realize that Vandy is expected to see that much of a drop while Cedar Park and Rouse see the most growth (unless lines are redrawn). Should see a natural shift in the growth of these programs too.
  8. Other interesting tidbits... Must have been crazy for Foster to prelim, go early final....then head out for States. Fulshear at least deferred, I think. Cain with percussion sweep. Jordan and Cain both consistently knocking on the door for States. Was nice to see both showing out, as these programs are similarly getting very close!
  9. Indeed, Cain the only band to jump massive in Finals just not enough in the subjective eyes. Tough prelim draw directly after The Woodlands DCI. Also no disrespect to Spring because all of these bands work so very, very incredibly hard. Just to be here is an huge accomplishment. Curious on the 5/6 College Park/Spring. Must have really disliked/liked something.
  10. Any final predictions before they announce it?
  11. I love the music in this Area! Big fan of Electric Counterpoint Part 3 and love Max Richter Vivaldi Recomposed. Should be a fun weekend with a few new or returning bands getting into the mix!
  12. I think some of this is true, though I think it also depends on the UIL Area you compete in too. I can think of a few very recent examples where some finaling BOA bands advanced UIL Region/Area with strong scores and then got to State and then received extremely underwhelming Ensemble, Wind, or Brass scores. Depends on what the judges subjectively are looking for.
  13. Prediction: 1 TWHS 2 College Park 3 Klein Oak 4 North Shore 5 Tomball Memorial 6/7/8 (in alphabetical order) Grand Oaks/Klein Cain/Oak Ridge
  14. Good point, Cleveland too. So really (if all 3 declare Military) you need all bands tomorrow to advance or we drop to 4 bands (not 5).
  15. Looks like 5 bands going from Area F 6A with 27 still remaining in the draw (unless we see 3 bands not advance after tomorrow Region 9)
  16. Another Prediction: 1. Bridgeland 2. Klein Oak 3. Clear Brook 4. College Park 5. Klein Cain 6. Brazoswood 7. Dickinson 8, 9, & 10. (in alphabetical order) Grand Oaks, Klein Collins, Tomball
