Looking at the amount of state finalists from each area(1st number) and how many qualified for state (2nd number) and how bands on the bubble for state finals 15th-21st (3rd number). A - 0/4/0 B - 3/7/1 C - 3/6/1 D - 2/5/3 E - 0/4/0 F - 1/5/0 G - 0/3/0 H - 2/4/2 I - 2/5/0 Area B and C are the strongest performing areas but D and H had all of their band place in the top 1/2. There are probably several bands in those areas that are good enough for state but are in areas that are too competitive. I would like to see state go to a 50 band system and award extra spots based off of last year’s state performance for the area. think this could be done, and help provide new schools and more competition. just an idea.

So I think the top 5 are locked in barring any disasters, or time issues. 1. Hebron 2. Marcus 3. Follower Mound 4. Prosper 5. Rock Hill so looking at the scores from last weeks BOA (I Know there is a big difference between UIL and BOA) scoring. Rockwall, McKinney, and McKinny Boyd were 16th, 15th, and 14th all very close in scores. The Wylie bands I have only seen their shows on you tube, and I can not find any results for competitions they have been to. But I think it’s a crap shoot between these 5 bands for the 6th spot, and the next 4 after(especially they way UIL scores). 11th and 12 is too hard to predict.
