This is a very tough Area competition. Still thought they had a chance at Finals.

Was a predetermined order.

Truthfully, there show was good enough that they will likely get an automatic bye in the Finals and advance directly to State.

Am I weird that I really liked Arlington Heights and think they have a chance to make finals?

I really liked their show. It's a smallish band compared to most competitors but I thought they had a strong tight sound. The marching was solid. I don't know that they will make Finals, but they looked like they belonged.

Huge fan of the shows from Berkner, Haltom, and Keller. These are just fun shows that each had some incredibly memorable elements. I was super curious whether SLC would make it. My initial instinct after watching their finals performance was "no." The flute and F Horn soloists were incredible but the marching precision was definitely lagging behind the finalists. Such an incredibly competitive Area.

Some thoughts from a former marcher and band fan... BC: Outstanding show. Fun music, strong performance. Tightest drumline I've ever seen at the HS level. Very much deserved to finish first. Sachse: This show is so much fun! Thought they had a chance to move into Top 3 during finals. Aledo: I just don't get it. I think the issue is that I just don't like their show. I think technically it's strong, but just not memorable.
