Greater numbers...

We have over 250 people in the marching program right now, and every year we add about 100 freshmen (remember there are seniors leaving also). The Bowie Band is really involved with the Middle Schools who'll be sending kids our way. Not only do we keep really close ties with the mid0high band teachers, but we also go around to all the elementry school and play for them, introducing them to music an dall the different insturments. It's really fun, and keeps the kids interested in music! -

Joining us, from Austin, Texas, please welcome the James Bowie Outdoor Preforming Ensamble. James Bowie's musical selection is entitled "A Little Night Music" .... Yay!! 12th best in the nation!! -
Hey, flute/piccolo player talking here! Pick up a brass instrument. My recomendation: the Mello. It's not nearly as competitive as the Trumpet and doesnt weight as much as the Baritone or Tuba. As for picking up the mallots. Go for it, just be sure you're coordinated (I wan't!). Another position you could try for is Drum Major, if that floats your boat. Thats the route I picked, it's fun and really...well fun.

To all Bowie undercalssmen...thank you so much for making this the perfect season for the senoirs. It's been everything we could have asked for!! Yeah, I'm so sorry that some people in the Bowie Band don't know how to show good sportsmanship and respect. L.D Bell, ya'lls show is amazing.
