  1. i agree so hard with this. 2022 was the last time i really truly enjoyed the music of like basically every band, nowadays it's just too complex and dci like for my layman taste
  2. tarpon being a 2a band will always be insane to me
  3. i am confident that all 6 texas bands will at least make semifinals, with cedar park, leander, and bridgeland being locks for finals imo. i feel like argyle, prosper, and friendswood are all finals caliber bands as well but I think that it'll be tougher for them to break into that upper ceiling.
  4. i feel like north shore is extremely underappreciated a lot they sound amazing
  5. this being said the mics are so much better than they were for 5a πŸ₯²πŸ₯²
  6. yeah i forgot this is week 9, it'll be updated on tuesday.

  8. another thing to mention is that bridgeland did not attend boa sa this year and i feel like they have a very very high chance of making finals here

  10. i totally agree with this. i dont know if it's just me but this year their show, despite the "silly" theme, is much better written and designed than last year and overall i think they sound way better this year than 2022 and 2023. being so close to the cutoff is huge for them! i dont doubt they will make finals, maybe even top half at grand nats.
  11. oh my god this is such a HUGE accomplishment for mcneil, i know they were gutted after not making uil state but this really made their marching season on a high note. amazing work mcneil edit: to stay true to my username ROUSE IN 3A FIRST PLACE β€ΌοΈβ€ΌοΈπŸŽ‰
  12. i was about to comment on this, because visually i thought lake belton would be 10-20 people over rouse just for rouse to have 1 more
  13. mgj went to grand nats in 2022 I believe! they made it to semifinals and got so close to grand nat finals πŸ™
  14. i know the trumpet/flugel soloist, he is incredible!
  15. westlake also had a bus problem last year for boa sa 😭 no way
  16. from experience i feel like houston bands arent given as much love as austin and dallas bands (being an austinite myself). i would say bridgeland is most definitely on the up and up, it just takes time for that reputation to be built.
  17. keyword in my original comment was always. lots of people tend to attribute their own program's losses to their larger competitors, when it shows that size is not everything. also while the graph is trending downwards, you can see there are plenty of bands outside of finals that are larger or around the same size as "small" bands that did make finals so your statement about the graph is untrue
  18. wow thats tough.. thankfully in my 4 years of marching band I never had to do that because our performance times would always be in the afternoon. i was also considering the costs of doing that and yeah that would be pretty expensive
  19. sachse's performance time is brutal.. to those of you who have kids in band/are in band and have had super early morning performance times, what do you guys usually do? i imagine it would be easiest to show up the night before especially if you're doing a non-local competition such as one like BOA SA or UIL state but some bands may opt to wake up at the crack of dawn..
