all i remember from when i saw the list is that we were ranked 5 9 9 6 6 and we listened to the tapes of one of the judges that gave us 9th and she only said positive stuff... we were hoping she'd tell us things we needed to fix since she had us 9th... i don't see how you can only say positive stuff and then score us so low... but whatever. i'll live. haha

i highly doubt that happened... it's probably just some idiot in band that is overly desperate and trying to make things better than they already are. Why can't people be happy with sixth??? I'm ecstatic!

yeah.. alot of my friends were very unhappy with their placement.

See i thought that at first... but then i was like... wait... there's a point where a band gets so great that people don't care how long it is. I'm hoping to get that effect. But Selkies is a good fallback. lol

I'm gonna' have to agree with the Legacy one. They are a very young band.. much like us. I'm hoping for great things for them next year at 4a state as well as us in two years for 5a, because we're not losing any substantial numbers and we got alternate this year. Also, one of my friends that graduated from martin last year told me that they were on a rebuilding year. And if you can make BOA finals on a rebuilding year, then you're doing work. So i'd watch out for them as well.

Some day i'm gonna' write an 8 part show of the Between the Buried and Me cd "Colors". IT's gonna' be epic because the students from 8 years prior are gonna' come back to watch on that last year and be like... i started this. Wassup. and the music just flat out owns children/babies.

so there are these two bands going that i'd never heard of that made state apparently..? i've never heard of them. i think clements was one, idr the other one.... anyone know anything about them/ which area? *****EDIT***** p.s.... sorry for the vague decription... i'm just basing it off of what my friend told me.. haha

yeah true. i was talking on more of the concert standpoint. i made region my freshman year at 7th chair, then we went to region 5 and i got 12th because the competition was so much fiercer. Area C is no joke i didn't mean it in that sense.

that is interesting... i'm curious to that as well. i wish we weren't in the powerhouse area. I remember freshman year when Mansfield was in the Duncanville/Coppell region... That one was SO much easier... Ah the good old days.

oh yeah... almost forgot... richland is reeeeally good this year. I was shocked. Don't get me wrong, they've always been good but this year seemed like they were even better. They're ballad amazed me. and then the tarp.

i wish we were going soooo bad... we're doing the duncanville contest... but never in my high school career have we made finals at a super regional... we missed by two in st. louis. but that's gonna' be one intense contest.

that is a fair statement. Those 5 are just soooo good at what they do. This was a great senior year and i'm just happy to be in finals. Let alone do well. 4 years ago our band was dq'd from area 2 years ago we got 18th and it's finally paid off. Great Senior year.

we didn't get to see bell... i wanted to soooo badly though.

AGREED! their show is boring... but they do it VERY well... so it cancels out. haha

and you have to understand... when i made that post earlier, it was more out of frustration... after calming down and re-reading it... i was a little harsh, so i'm sorry for that.

we have class double blocked, but instead of two hours every day... we take wednesday off and do three hours on tuesday and thursday. i like that alot more.

lolwut? i'm going to assume this is a joke or something...? because i fail to see your logic in posting this. i'm pretty sure all you've done is make your own band look bad, because even though you were trying to trash our band for saying that flower mound was good and we only lost to them by .1... you're just making yourself look like an ignorant little kid who forgot to use common sense before posting... i can honestly think of no reason why you think any of that was bragging or dissing.

Idk what ya'lls expectations are, but as for my band... i just hope we make finals... our school's never done that and you gotta take it one step at a time.
