ooh.... treated. but wylie's strong points have always been that their marching is VERY simple... their main forte at least from what i've gathered, is from playing. A show like that is normally maxed out early in the season... it's hard to get better when you're near as good as you're gonna' get at the first contest. Long story short... i'm saying that it's gonna' be hard to beat a band this early in the season that plays well and barely moves... not to diss on them... it obviously works seeing as how they do work at every contest they go to.

so far that makes.... coppel richland mansfield summit feel free to add on to the list... or mbui can just do that thing where he finds a list somewhere online =D

good lord... this contest got stacked in no time compared to last year... i'm nervous now... i know it's early in they year... but i'd say those last 8 bands listed make this a good contest to go to.

there's two horn solos... and one of them is so retarded... it goes from 4/4 to 3/4 to 4/4 to 3/4... and it throws me off.... for scapegoat purposes... it doesn't help that none of our drum majors conduct together... because it starts facing backfield... and so when i turn around, whoever is on the front tower is like... 2 counts off from whatever the backfield drum major was doing... and it honestly does throw me off... but the solo in the ballad is tight..

our director writes ours... and it's very convenient.... because idk anyone else that can teach the stuff he writes for us... he's nuts... but in a good way =] but yeah... i'm stoked about this year... we don't play as loud... but that actually might be a good thing seeing as how our band is known for sloppy playing and blasting... and the drill is looking VERY good for the second week. probably better than it did at arlington last year... (slight exaggeration)

i was saying it was bad because of the hashes... we definitely could've done better. I'm not trying to make excuses but it does throw you off when you're closer to a person than you normally are... haha

agreed... but once again... how can you ensure that those players aren't just going over the speakers the entire time?

i agree... but as far as personal soloists go... how can you tell whether their mic is on the entire time or not? i think it's fine for solo's but playing for the whole thing is just flat out cheating i think. but there's no way to crack down on that...

oooh... i was like... i've gotta' ask my dad about this one... (mr. mckinzey.. big fat guy) well that's understandable. and i completely agree about the waste of money thing... you could just buy one mic and have it on the front sideline like bell did in their trilogy.

you can do that!?!? it's a genius idea... don't get me wrong... but that's like hiding your weaker players... idk though... it puts some bands at a disadvantage...

lafayette is good... but idk about them being a for sure finalist.. we beat them in st. louis last year, and it was one of our worst performances. not to say it was their best though... i'm just saying... where are they from anyway?
