This show actually sounds really cool. I don't think it's going to be anything like the 2005 production, My Kind of Town. Go check out Billy Joel's classical album, Fantasies and Dellusions. I'm sure they will have some of his more well-known hits in it, but they'll most likely have some of Joel's stuff from this album as well.

My college marches twenty tubas and I'd be willing to bet Allen HS does. I haven't seen them in years, but I'd just think with a band that size they'd have twenty tubas.

The Bluecoats hornline played on them in 2002. I like them. I DO NOT like Jet Tone or Schilke mouthpieces though. I feel that in the lower registers, you lose a LOT of tone! If you want a "cheater" mouthpiece I suggest going with either a Marcinkiewicz or a Warburton. I really like Warburton mouthpieces.

2005 Cavies show - entitled "My Kind of Suck!" HaHa. There are very few corps that I don't like. One of my best friends was a two yr member of the Cavaliers (aged out in 05). He said that's what they called the show all year long. I'm still particular to my old BLOOOOOOOO. I'm trying to get more kids at the school where I teach involved in the activity. I've got a few that may try out this year. Gotta start somewhere, right?

I'm not sure on the field, but when I was in college we would use ten sometimes twelve in the stands. We marched with eight. Edit: We march seven tenors, twelve snares, eight basses, and a multitude of cymbals and then have about ten or so in the pit.

I'm trying to find out info on the Bluecoats show and everything is very hush hush. Staff members don't even know what they are doing. Maybe someone out in the txbands.com world knows?

The A in the Bluecoats Show Logo looks just like the A from The Da Vinci Code. I'll try and find out if it is just sheer coincidence or if there is something behind it. I'm sure there is. I meant to say this about it too. The logo looks like the Law & Order thing! ha.

Hopefully "The Man" won't read this, but I just did a search for a certain school here in TX and found around five of said schools BOA shows. I do like that the shows on Google have a better quality than the shows on YouTube.

Whitacre is without a doubt one of my top 4 favorite composers of all time. He writes extremely well in any idiom. To top it off, he's one of the coolest and most down to earth guys ever. I think he's somewhat transforming what the every day musician hears now. What was once dissonant is now pleasant due to some of Whitacre's writing. He's great and will only get better with age.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Skramp?

Since Skramps gone, anyone have any other sites comparable?
