I think there will be prelims and finals, forecast looks to be clearing pretty well. Heard through the grapevine they might push up the start time of finals in order to finish before the storms roll in later. But, it does look like it’s shaping up to be good enough for prelims and finals

rain forecasts keep fluctuating. last i saw, they were predicting rain showers in the morning, with a transition to thunderstorms mid afternoon (2pm-ish)… ugh

^ this. both have 6-8 state-level programs, and only sending 4. B was one band getting 2 at region away from only sending 3.

anybody have any idea what might happen if saturday and monday both get rained out? i know the UIL has to get involved, but what are the next steps from there? i know they have to have the contest eventually, as this weather will affect area competitions all around texas, and not sending bands to state because of bad weather is simply just not an option, and i don’t think they would do that anyways.

these results aren’t making complete sense in my head. for example, SLC 1st in visual ENS. were they good? of course they were! however, not too sure if they were on quite the level that hebron was. they were insane. i also heard keller had some percussion/electronic issues in prelims, not sure if that would’ve warranted 11th in percussion though. wylie's show, while very cool, makes me dizzy while looking at it, those uniforms are sick though! guess that makes in memorable, and i can totally see how they won GE prelims and were a close second in finals, great execution by them! and that COLORGUARD🤤🤤 waxahachie getting 8th in GE was a little shocking to see, although i wasn’t able to see their performance last night. i saw it a bit earlier in the season and i thought it was great! overall, this contest was a huge success for multiple programs! wishing these bands well at their upcoming area contests this weekend (and for the rain to stay away!)

also also… heard they were doing full band retreat at area B this year? i know area C does it, was wondering if that was just a rumor or confirmed to be true

also… say like 16-17 of the bands get to perform in prelims, meaning there’s a handful that get rained out… they wouldn’t leave those bands out would they? i would assume that they would wait until everybody has had a chance to perform before they announce state qualifiers etc.

has this ever happened before? what did they do instead if it has?

i would assume they either try for tuesday (which also is looking stormy), or maybe if monday gets rained out, they search for alternate locations, maybe even an indoor practice facility if they must?

that’s what i was wondering… i need to analyze before i set my predictions for upcoming contests 😁
