Other music writting software?
mindfulmusician replied to twizzlaar's topic in Drill Writers, Arrangers, and Composers Corner
That is a GOOD question...so far, I've been able to only work on Finale NotePad Demo, and its ok, but I've heard TONS of software that sounds a lot better. Anyway, I know that Fortissimo said that he got his software through "dishonest" means. Maybe he can help a poor musical brother out. - mm -
For those of you who don't know, I think that threevalvecircus is referring to the San Diego, TX (the county seat of Duval County which lies about 52 miles to the west of Corpus Christi). You guys have to remember that this IS Texas....land of many obscurely-named towns, such as San Diego, DISH, and Happy. Anyway, yeah...good luck to all of you auditioning this weekend. - mm

Actualgirltrombone, I have to admit, every time I see your avatar, I chuckle. That pic is SO hilarious. Anyway, there was this ONE time where this stupid trombone player (he quit in 9th grade, thank god) was SPINNING his trombone (it was standing up on the slide, and he was twirling it around...all of a sudden, he lost his grip and it LOUDLY clattered and fell to the ground. Yeah...our director was not at all happy when that happened. - mm

Sorry...I misspelled pretensious...I meant pretentious. - mm

Well, there would be a small fee for my work, and, there would be a risk that my paper would be written far too eloquent for the teacher to assume that it's your own work (not too sound pretensious or anything, but that ACTUALLY happened). - mm

Well, there are many ways to work on double-tonguing. For starters, you need to do know HOW to double tongue. Say the syllables "tu-ku-tu-ku" over and over again without the horn or mouthpiece. Once you get this done, start with the mouthpiece, and then with the horn. Basically, you can turn any exercise into a double tonguing exercise (i.e. playing a scale up and down, and double tonguing a rhythm on each note). First, you should start out slowly double tonguing on a single note, and gradually get to the point where you can double tongue at faster tempos. After you are comfortable with this, you should double tongue on different notes (for example, articulating the "tu" syllable on an F and articulating the "ku" syllable on a G). You should try to practice double tonguing as much as possible if you're a beginner, so that you can build this important skill. I'm not an expert per se, and I'm sure other people will comment on this topic, but I hoped that I help you at least a little bit. - mm

Hey, if y'all need a paper written in history or english (only certain parts of english, though), e-mail me the topic, and I may do it. As bored2damax can tell you, I write a good paper. Anyway, toodles. - mm

I think we should have predictions for the day that Fortissimo is going to go and "crap on Key Poulan's porch." I anticipate that it will be on March 15, 2010. lol. - mm

How could you lose your slide on the field? I think it would be pretty hard...but, I could see how it could happen. lol...there was this one occaision at a game when we were turning around from back field to front, and I hit this mello's plume, and almost knocked down his shako (when we had done this in practice, I was able to clear his head, but I forgot to compensate for the plume heighth. Yeah...he was a senior, and I was only a junior, and he was pretty pissed off after the fact; after that, he NEVER let me forget about the incident...lol.
