Cinco Ranch has some issues as far as visual cleanliness goes IMO.
looking at our predictions, you can see how we all each have something different about the placement of each band and such(no Bridgeland, Not you). And it just makes me think of how the judging panel could look, it’s cool to see how even the way that works it sort’ve reflected here.
now itd be very interesting to see tubapop, ruben_f, clamp, sideswiperr, 11bandman11, judging a contest and to look at those recaps 😂

At this point I don’t know WHAT to do, choose and pick a band to piggyback or enter in the contest MYSELF and win this thing so I can choose a winner.

If I recall the caption awards, like guard, percussion, etc. are scored individually but DONT count and add towards the total scoring of the ensembles.
So like what happened with results this year, you could win a bunch of captions, and still have a lower total score than other groups. I'd LOVE to get my eyes on some recaps and see exactly what happened 👀

I meant they would be state-level bands in your Wisconsin or other states.
It is. Texas bands are just a whole different beast than other states.

I have! Which is why I know. There are some outliers of course I have seen a good band from Washington I think it was. It definitely surprised me a bit. To be fair though most of them do the more "hype shows" and not the DCI/competitive style shows that are more prevalent. Then you have a few mid-west bands on top of that. Of whom do the "Ohio state style". So it is just really a different animal on so many different levels.

This is absolutely true. Marching band is not a major point of focus in most states. Have you seen bands from states outside of Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma, Florida, Kentucky? Go watch a video of the New York state champion Greece Blue Knights band. They would be laughed out of the building at BOA-SA.

TBh i can see Sky Raiders making DCI finals this year. Please forget the fact that they haven't been a core for 20 years.
Not trying to be rude.

Come on guys. I also chuckled a bit at the posts but then it occurred to me that this is probably a Langham Creek band kid who really wants to see his/her band do well. He's aiming for something, he has a goal, he has a dream, he has a competitive spirit, and in this forum of all places we should be encouraging the helI out of that, not mocking him for it.

Overall huge improvements in the area, Langham Creek, Paetow, and Cypress Park,I have watched at football games and they have neat drill, clean sounds and cool choreo. I think these three are gonna be new area finalist in the coming years.

Honestly, with Jordan having massive improvement in the past few years, I wouldn't be surprised if they place higher than Seven Lakes.

Date: November 2,2024
Location: Berry Center CFISD - Cypress, TX (Confirmed)
The UIL Area contest is less than ONE months away! This year, it's expected to be one of the most competitive areas in Houston. Will there be four state spots after three high schools moved down to 5A? Can Jordan overtake Seven Lakes or secure their first state spot? Will we see a repeat of last year's top 4? This area might be unpredictable!
