In bed and home. Congratulations to Marcus on the win, but wow, Wakeland was right there, not too surprised though! Didn’t expect Lonestar in 11th nor Mustang in 8th, but nothing else is to crazy considering how today went. If I’ve learned one thing from this comp, always expect what you don’t thinks gonna happen to happen, because anything surprising can and will happen! Prelims recap is, interesting to say the least, SUPER tight for those last 2 as we expected. Thanks again to our 5 out of state programs for coming down, PLEASE come back next fall! Bentonville was AMAZING!! 🤩 
Did anyone catch the underlying theme of their show? The voice over was Princess Diana, the tiara represented Princess Diana, the uniforms where from an iconic sweater worn by Princess Diana, and finally, Princess Diana was the black sheep of the royal family.

Can I just say that is the most creative show concept I’ve seen in a second from Bentonville. It’s not just notable in the props but also the drill writing and music. Incredibly work really from their design team, and incredible work from the students for performing it fantastically and doing the design justice.

Killer performance from Lonestar. People tearing up to that ballad, and god that Mello line is ridiculous, will be even more so come state!

Wakeland had a stunning show. Marching looked perfect and music was beautiful. Their show is definitely going to be top 5. However I personally believe that if lone star makes their show as good as them they have a potential to beat them in state.

McKinney North:
Yet another jazz themed show! Oh yeah! I'm digging it, nice tap dancing. And dancing overall from the brass quintet! I love their vocalist! Wow. BRASS yeahhh! I love how fun the show is. But there is still cleaning to be done. But the energy is amazing! 

I might be old but did anybody else realize walnut grove plays the Civilization game theme?

Walnut Grove:
Building backfield. Turn around to the front hit, not overpowering, control is evident. Nice trumpet brassy eco. Strong brass moments are very present in the show. Woodwinds have their moments and sound controlled. Nice job flutes! Good brass build through the balled hit. Most of the marching is clean. Interesting saxophone technique nice eco effect! Technique is clear across the ensemble and nice mello rip! Good ending effect nice job!

Walnut Grove:

North Mesquite:
I'm a stickler for ripples. Nice job tuba. I like the flow throughout the ensemble. Woodwind feature showed is nice technique I liked the bouncing between the brass sections. Flute was good! Equal brass sounds. It has. Alor of softer undertones and that makes us appealing. Good shaping. 

Grapevine
The use of more pop songs is interesting. I like the integration of the bike. Cleaning still has a few spots needing to be worked on. A few phasing moments. Tuning becomes more and more crucial as the day goes on. I like the show, and good job Grapevine!

Braswell:
Amazing opening statement from the trombone and trumpet! Fun pre-show. Nice saxophones! I live for the visual movements and the feel of the show. Nice trumpet/mello moment. Beautiful flute solo! Okay, trombones! Very flowy last hit nicely done!
