As a ex music educator, can you Clinic John Horn this week? lol I’m just a band parent but I’m already so nervous for them. I want them to have their best run imaginable. 😬😅😱

Thunderstorms predicted for Saturday and even on the inclement weather day on Monday. What happens in this situation if both days are rained out? MISD does have the covered football field at Memorial but I wonder if they’ll be able to use it for these events.

Real quick i thought I counted 14 total bands. How were there still 4 state spots? Is it not 1 state spot for every 5 bands? What am I missing?

I know this is a 6A forum but does anyone know the results of tonight’s 5A area C finalist? Nothing populated on the other forum.

Just witnessed Duncanvilles show and…….. wow. Literal show stoppers. Amazing. I spoke to one of the directors and told him, give em heck in San Antonio! he gave our band a few kudos too. Said for a band full of freshmen and sophomores were pretty good. Made me feel better about the things we’re doing within this program. And for our future

Horn plays Duncanville tonight, I was looking forward to watching their show. But no band here for Duncanville. Anyone know what’s up with that?

Is there a score sheet from the region UIL I dont know about? Do share lol

For birdville we had a game the night before and our call time was 5:00 am. We performed at like 8 am or something wild like that. Very long day only for us to end up second to last 😬

I saw Lancaster and Skyline. However I didn’t see Skyline on the area sheet.

Our program (Horn 160 kids) is expected to grow next year. This year we only have 20 seniors, and I believe a little over 2/3 of the band are freshman and sophomores. one feeder middle school alone will have 90 kids coming to Horn next year, and we have 3 feeders lol. We will see what happens 🤷🏿‍♂️

Yikes! Lol but hey at least no more big 3 in our area 🤷🏿‍♂️, before you were basically fighting for 2 spots. So is it 8 bands that could make it to finals or still 10?

What would be that captivating factor that could make Horn a little more memorable? Too late in the game to change I think but we’re open to constructive criticism lol

Correct I was there for the announcement but he had posted the result almost as soon as the bands were done performing. So I was just wondering if it was predictions or if he had early access to the ratings.

our show from US band Dallas regionals. Not my favorite clip because you can hear the other bands drum line warming up lol but it’s the only one I can find right now. As a band dad we’re really trying to revitalize the culture here. They had a good thing going in the late 2010’s, that went south post covid. We’re doing what we can to get it back where it was going.
