To be honest Celina did not deserve that win whatsoever. Yes the kids work hard and have talent. Their brass sound is heavenly and so pure but so is Panther Creek's and their was waaaaay more demanding. It's frustrating that UIL can't move past the rigid shows and always rewarding those types of shows instead of the more fluid shows like Panther Creek. It's whatever but the best 4a band this year was Panther Creek by a long shot. The UIL is just to stubborn...

Since you asked for it in my opinion it will be extremely hard to break top 5 for anyone outside of area b and c. It may even be hard to break top 7. The areas are coming in HHHOOOOOT. Even their new comers look super good. Not only that these areas are known to pick it up for state. I wish all bands luck though.

Argyle would be the band to do it. They would have made 5a state the very first year they were a 5a but it wasn't a state year that time. The next year they were in a state spot prelims but unfortunately dropped down. This year they kept their spot from prelims to finals. Essentially, since Argyle has been a 5a only one run hasn't been state worthy which is unheard of. Also 4a to 5a is the biggest jump a band can make and Argyle made it look like it was nothing. Argyle will dethrone Cedar Park eventually.

I didn't compete in this contest. I have no reason to be praising Farmersville so much. He's not. I watched the north lamar video and was scratching my head on why they did so good. Van Alstyne was much better in my opinion. They had a much better sound and fundamentals. I don't think the power bands like canton and north lamar should have done as well as they did. Not this year. -

No their balance was pretty spot on and their sound was very full. They played a lot of different things pretty good. Their articulation could have been better alongside their dynamics. However, those are my only complaints. They definitely deserved better. -

I agree. I'm not exactly sure why Farmersville placed so low in music. They definitely were better musically than north lamar without a doubt. Maybe even Sulphur. Everyone can argue with me about that and say all judges put them higher I understand that. However, I STRONGLY disagree with those placements and will die on the hill that Farmersville was better than North Lamar. Before y'all acuse me of being a Farmersville kid I am not. I didn't even compete. Also, I noticed people were talking about North Lamar being another band that had multiple tounging and I myself missed that part. I had no idea they played something like that. On the other Farmersville's multiple tongiung was super crisp and pretty fast. Absolutely no way on God's green earth that north lamar was better musically. -
😠I bet argyle does not want to lose their record. They currently have the most champions out of any texas band. They're coming for that 5a title very very soon. It only took them 2 years to make state at the 5a level which is ridiculous. Personally, the best tecas band just because of the quality and how competitive they have at any class they have been in. They adapt so fast.

Uil will do everything in it's power to not host area inside an indoor facility. It would be super unfair to those bands that don't have the luxury of an indoor facility. It may also cut bands that otherwise would have made it. -

They're most likely your band but I don't see lake dallas making finals either. This is area where in the past years has taken all the medals at state. It is super stacked and now that some bands moved the bands that stayed will battle it out with a few new ones but only a few will be able to take it to area b bands. Lake Dallas did not perform well against most of these bands at aubrey and the exhibition was better imo. -
I'm too lazy to copy and paste the links but panther creek plays a few parts and farmersville has the same opener. Farmersville also has wakelands ballad from last year. I highly recommend watching those two shows they're both really fun and great shows to watch. Both can be found on YouTube if the name of the band is searched. Although they are pretty old runs and those bands have gotten significantly better over the past few weeks Panther Creek marching and Farmersville Marching Band

It's not banned because the band doesn't own the book. The band pays a composer to write their book and acquire copyright things to ve able to play it. Cedar park's show from last is being played in parts. The top 4as each have a part or two from Belle Mechanique. They also could give cedar park a run for their money. I'm joking but it's awesome to see. I would check it out.

This has happened and they will certify bands according to prelims results if needed so everyone do not wait until finals fornthe best run because qualifying for state may depend entriely on the prelims run -

Oh no I've seen judging like that this year. I know a cooler time in the day will greatly benefit a band. I marched as well... -

Honestly I don't even know anymore. I was pretty confident about my predictions but not anymore. I completely forgot canton and sulphur beat celina at princeton. Then lamar beats farmersville at royce city but they come right back and beat them twice at celina the same day. Farmersville also got 1 or 2 judges to put them ahead of sulphur in music. The farmersville beats Alvarado who beat canton which would mean they're better than celina. I don't like how inconsistent the judging is. We'll see if the judges are able to do their job correctly. -

My predictions 1. Sulphur Springs 2. Farmersville 3. Celina 4. Lumberton 5. North Lamar 6. Canton 7. Van Alstyne 8. Community 9. ParÃs 10. Sunnyvale Other 2 I don't I haven't watched that many bands. I do think Celina is going to drop a lot of spots due to their show being a 1a level difficulty. Their show is really easy and boring and sulphur springs is pretty clean imo. However, I haven't watched theur show recently so they might have changed something dramatically that I don't know of. Now I have a feeling Farmersville will be second either behind Sulphur Springs or Celina but not third and behind both. I'm not sure why canton and North lamar are being predicted so far up when Farmersville beat North lamar at Celina recently both prelims and finals. Also, Farmersville beat Alvarado again both prelims and finals and Alvarado beat Canton much more recently both prelims and finals. I understand these programs have a really competitive history but not this year. This year these programs look like a shadow of their pastselves. We'll see other bands ahead of them like Farmersville and Lumberton. Maybe even Van Alstyne since they seem to be pretty close to North Lamar. -
I am predicting that this year ee will have state finalists that no one has heard of. For example, Farmersville will probably be there due to them being successful at old area b which always took home the medals. We will see finalists that either moved from area b to another area or stayed there. Area b bands are just that good. Krum is seeming to stir up some attention
