How do the points shown in aggregate predictions work? 100+ predictions were submitted and 1st place has 700-800 points.

I couldn't find Calallen video anywhere. Randall and Canyon are saved to a playlist to watch tonight. Those 3 have definitely been strong bands to watch for.

Oh nice! When was that? Any of Farmersville's current marchers? UIL... They really need to rotate the schedule to take turns in which areas play 1st. Area C two years ago and this year again doesn't seem right. NL playing 1st and at 9 a.m. is definitely a disadvantage.

Our family thought Farmersville would have beat North Lamar in Finals, BUT, we are also not trained judges. However, in Finals round their was only a difference of 2 points between them in 4th & 5th place. That amount is something that could potentially flip-flop from one round to the next. North Lamar does have a possible advantage with having years of experience at State. The Alamodome is like a strange cave. Adrenaline levels are going to be high & experience helps.

I had not even seen the predictions section. I have a few videos still to watch today and then I'll enter mine so I can see the others.

So Farmersville is going to leap frog past Sulphur Springs, Bridge City, & North Lamar that are also from Area C (and all 3 of those beat them in both the prelim and finals round)? I haven't seen Aubrey to have an opinion on them. No Davenport either? I think Farmersville does have a chance of getting into finals, but am definitely wondering about those ranks...

With allowing some margin of error for not being able to hear some parts very well (due to the filming in apparent hurricane force winds, lol)... I would now more confidently say I expect them to be in finals. Good luck!

I feel pretty sure about the top 4-5 that are left from last year without Anna. I won't say Davenport for sure yet based off only having a 3 week old video to view. They are more based off reputation and their scores at Area.

Nine bands who were at state last year will not be there this year. Having seen Farmersville this weekend & their video, I believe Farmersville has a shot at making finals. I have no connection to them and don't even know where Farmersville is located, lol. I haven't watched videos of Aubrey & Gatesville yet to have an opinion on those 2. Some bands don't seem as dominant as last year, while others who weren't in the top 10 last year are stronger. I don't think that all 9 of the remaining bands left from last year's top 10 will repeat. About 5 of them I think are pretty set, but the other spots are up for grabs. Personally, I love a good dark horse or to see the excitement from a lesser mentioned school who breaks into the finals round and is psyched just to make it that far.

WTH?! I searched yesterday on Davenport Band, Davenport Marching, Davenport Area, filtered for uploads in the past month and was not finding it. Thanks! Most directors have told parents not to post public videos due to copyright, protecting show concept, integrity... Some have specified to wait until after Region/Area/State.

Have you been to state recently? See Celina's winning theme last year?

Have you seen some of the top bands from other areas in person this year like Celina, Sulphur Springs, China Spring, Panther Creek, etc.? Noone "deserves" 1st in State until they pull off a stellar finals performance surpassing the others according to UIL's standards.

It's hard to say top 5 before their State performances, but they both are on my list for top 10 finalists.

Celina- Attention to detail for sure. If they lean or step out, the body & leg angles are the same. We wanted to know if the accordion player already knew how to play?

Is it 100% new judges for finals round? If it's a 7 judge panel, only 11 judges are listed.
