Any thoughts on this first block of bands?

Does anyone have a breakdown of who the state judges are? Who are they? Where are they from?

Lots of great bands. I don't think you can count out Whitesboro as they have a history of turning it up a notch at state and an experienced band. Same goes for CH Yoe and Holliday.....but no one from Area C should be excluded from discussion. Atlanta was fourth at area last year, yet ended up as the Bronze medalist band. Howe about that?

Lots of interest among the state 3A directors on this region. This region will be strongly represented at SMBC. After a deep dive the following have happened in previous contests on head to head match ups.... Mineola beat Whitesboro (reigning state champion in 3A) Redwater beat Mineola early season Atlanta beat Redwater last week Winnsboro has been highly competitive in this grouping. Oddly, Queen City seems to be struggling but they have been consistent State Participants. Commerce is having a strong year. They were a representative at SMC in region B last year. I have no predictions. This is going to be a fiercely competitive region. And, it would be historic but I would not be surprised to see the Region C advancing bands to all make State Finals.
