High School: 1997 Mesquite Poteet Ballet Sacra. I was in 4th grade and first time I ever saw that show was state (older cousin was a freshman and trumpet soloist) and I was hooked and wanted to be a teacher from that moment. Which I did for 10 years before life decided I needed to go another direction. LD Bell and Duncanville have always held a special place in my memory the late 90's and early 2000's those programs where amazing DCI: 2006 Cavaliers I'm biased because I marched that year, was a little bitter sweet, Won state and won worlds the same year (long story behind why I only marched DCI in 05 & 06 nothing bad, just long lol) For DCI I like different shows across time, 88 Scouts, 03 Cadets, 05 BlueCoats, 08 PR/Cavs, 03/04 BD some older ones from the 70's and 80's like the skyriders, Velvet Knights, and Anaheim Kingsmen Little culture shout out to Nishishara (sure I butchered that) I saw them live in Japan and holy heck they were good, those kids are amazing and the program they have is top tier

They just finished 7th Area C 5A HPHS is always on the border line when they redue classifications because of student population

JHHS will be fine they have been doing great things in that program for years now.

Some of you have never read the rule book or have been educated on the rules and it shows. Stop with the former staff member rumors. Breathe/relax/reflect/and move forward it's over and the results are what they are. I was a music educator in Texas for 10 years before life took me down a different route. I think I know a thing or two about how the system works and rules involved. As it pertains to my high school, Mesquite Poteet. Their kids are not allowed on here, never have been allowed, been that way for a very long time. I have known every staff member of my old school since 1997 and I can name them all, the current staff I actually grew up with. For the judging aspect, you think area was a little on the crazy side, then wait until you see the chaos of state prelims/finals For WM and Kaufman you had great years that ended on less than expected notes and that's okay. It happens, ask me about the first SMBC in the dome that was 21yrs ago and I still remember everything about that year lol. The best thing you can do is move forward and next season come out ready to work day 1. But your year IS NOT done, you still have concert/sight reading and region/area/state auditions. I do enjoy the fake controversy created for discussions Iike this... happens every year. (Sips tea)
