Oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE this piece. I had the privelege of playing it this past year, which also happened to be my last year in high school, and, along with having a phenomenal euphonium part, it is truly an amazing piece of music. Kudos to Camphouse on that one.
Others that I like listening to.. lemme think:
Godzilla Eats Las Vegas -- Whitacre
I love this one, humorous, awesome, and unique.
Ticheli's 2nd Symphony
Namely the 3rd movement, but the other 2 movements are good, too. French horn rip at the end of the 3rd movement is the coolest thing ever.
1812 Overture -- Tchaikovsky
Can't go wrong with Tchaikovsky, and the fact that it was used in V for Vendetta really made me happy.
Night on Bald Mountain -- Mussorgsky
One of my favorite pieces, it's a classic piece to be used in scary parts of films. I, along with many of you, I'm sure, was first introduced to it with Fantasia, and unfortunately, the scene it was incorporated with gave me nightmares at the time, but I've since gotten past that, and now I appreciate the piece for what it is: Brilliant!
The Sorcerer's Apprentice -- Dukas
Again, another one from Fantasia, probably more well known than Bald Mountain because the scene involved Mickey Mouse.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
