  1. Geometry projects? Math projects? That's weird. Things that suck: Black holes.
  2. Deltoids.
  3. Knights of Cydonia - Muse
  4. I don't see any humor in this. It's a serious matter, it happens to me at least once a day, and when it does I get pissed. It is one of the things I truly despise in the world because I love sneezing. It feels so good, unless you're sick with bronchitis or the like.
  5. It's true, and to be quite honest, I really don't care. I do what I love to do and I'm happy to do it
  6. Yea yea, well, the guys on your football team aren't real humans, they've obviously been gene-spliced with full grown male silverback gorillas. Despite your victory over us, we still achieved the first playoff game victory in school history! (that probably sounds terribly pathetic, but hey, it's my senior year and it happened, I was incredibly excited) Anyway, here were go: Lets see how band geeky you really are
  7. 89 Phantom 93 Star 95 Madison 99 SCV 00 Cadets 02 Cavies 04 SCV 06 Cavies
  8. Things that suck: Forgetting to ask your band director for a second letter of recommendation for another school, and dreading their inevitable rage at asking them now.
  9. Sorry to resurrect this almost dead thread, but I had to correct my fellow Westwood euphonium player. Unless your arms are out of whack, you don't use your biceps to hold up a marching baritone/euphonium, you use your deltoids, your shoulders. Having bigger biceps will actually make it harder because it will add to the weight that your shoulders have to hold up.
  10. Yea, our band director played a recording of it earlier this year and said we might do it for our last concert, then changed his mind the day after. Needless to say, I was crushed, I've been in love with that piece ever since 1999 Santa Clara Vanguard.
  11. AHH, not fair, Blue Shades is such a cool piece. I want to play it
  12. Ah, and thus the only thing I do better than the honors band euphs, play louder I still think I should be in honors band, but whatever.
  13. I probably would have been going if not for the fact that my UT audition is occurring the same day. Good luck with your solos/ensembles everyone!
  14. One thing I REALLY hate is when I feel like I need to sneeze, I prepare for it, I can feel it coming, I rear my head back and then.... no sneeze. Then my nose itches for the next 20 minutes.
  15. HI ZACH, HIHI. HI, hih, Hihi hi hi! Seriously though, I can't believe that someone could hold a marching baritone up for 30 minutes straight. And I'm talking without faltering at all.
  16. My favorite memory would have to be during and after our finals performance last year at Westlake. As my signature suggests, last year's show was tremendously better than any of the others, and, despite making 4th (which isn't bad, but it was kind of anti-climactic), the feeling of walking off the field KNOWING that it was our best performance of the year was amazing. I knew it was fantastic right off the bat, and even more so when we reached the middle of our show and got the fans on their feet. *sigh* It's for things like this that I will truly loath leaving high school.
  17. I'm planning on doing music in college, I have yet to audition though. I auditon at UT this Saturday, and I am dying of anxiety.
  18. Wtballs, 30 minutes? I call shenanigans, how can you do that and still have arms??
  19. Hey, we like to sing. Or rather, I like to sing, and my friend there likes to jump in half steps and tri-tones off and make me sound terrible.
  20. I'm basing this on attitude during marching season, not necessarily playing ability, we typically have good sounds. Flutes: A, most of the time Clarinets: A+ Saxes: A Low Reeds: A Trumpets: C, off task quite a bit of the time Horns: A+, a bit eccentric, but on task Trombones: C Euphoniums: A+, not to be biased, but our euphonium section rocks Tubas: A Percussion: A The band as a whole would probably get about a B+. Some people just can't seem to be on task, and I can specifically name 10 or 11 of them, and they seriously drag the band down, despite the fact that everyone else is working as hard as they can.
  21. Westwood's second band is playing: His Honor - Fillmore (fun march, nice and fast, the way I like it) Early Light - Bremer (it's a happy sort of song, good euph part so I like it) Watchman, Tell Us of the Night - Camphouse (11 or so minutes of awesome, slow, but sounds amazing) What the first band is playing escapes me EDIT: I lied, we're not playing any Vaughan Williams =X
  22. Since I just joined this deal noone really knows me yet, but I figured for those who want to get to know me, I'd show you who I am and what I do with my friends before football games. I'm the more prominent figure in the picture here.
  23. Things that suck: Being slapped in the face with the realization that this is my last year in high school band
  24. I perpetually have a classical song stuck in my head, but at the moment, The Washington Post March.
