really? i'm pretty sure he's just a fan of an awesome program, who in my opinion deserves to be praised.. there's nothing wrong with appreciating the quality of a great band. also allstater09 wasn't technically praising them he was just curious as to what their show was like this year. EDIT: except, i may be wrong because i just looked at his profile and it said the school he was representing was hebron. lol

Hanks is definately on the rise. They sound PHENOMENAL, i was more than impressed.

you might be right about finals because that info came from a student but im pretty sure about prelims because my band director told us. you seem a little on edge about every post ive made.. guessing youre from another band in area A. sorry if i did get that info wrong though, chill out. just saying what i've heard.

ya there are flaws in both systems but i still think it's pretty messed up how at area this year we got 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 in prelims and then in finals we got 1,1,1,1,6 .... the 6 was pretty random if you ask me. i don't know, i guess im just a little bitter that we were 3rd just because of one judge. :/

ya i would put connally over us (fossil ridge) if you were looking at our standings LAST year.. but you have to keep this in perspective, things are totally different this year. you can't judge a band on previous seasons because in reality they aren't even the "same" band. things change; new students, new directors, new goals. it doesn't matter what place we got last year at one competition. last year our show wasn't consistent. we would nail our performance one day and it would totally fall apart the next. this year our whole show has been rock solid, consistently. not saying we're better than connally, because they have been amazing in the past, just saying don't count us out.

our head director will be leaving and our assistant director will be taking over, then we are getting 2 new assistant directors and a new percussion instructor. it's def. going to be very different next year..
