Uniforms

i really like mostly white uniforms. for sum reason they are very appealing to me. dripping springs has awesome unifroms -
i will have to agree with you there. UIL is teaching execution, which is extremely important, but it doesnt really give incentive to put entertaining drill out there. BOA on the other hand, they have a GE part in the score so it does encourage the mkore entertaining shows. BUT....i do think BOA rewards the bands that execute really well, so i think BOA is one of the better systems out there right now

same school as above....not to mention we got beaten by a team that was 0-9 before last night. now that team is 1-9. the same record we have

I like to give credit where it's due. They deserve it.

I just wanted to take the time to thank the Smithsonian Valley High School Ranger Band for their wonderful hospitality this past Monday. They not only let us use their field to practice, but they also provided us with water and made us cookies(which were really good). This is the kind of friendship that makes the marching band scene such a great thing. Once again, a heartfelt thanks from the Frisco Centennial Band for the Ranger band's great hospitality.

Well. I'm out for the night, got an early practice in the morning and then we leave. Wanted to wish all the bands that are gonna be at state good luck. Leave it all out there and don't look back! -
Centennial Marching Festival

its pretty easy for me cuz of the attitude weve created in the trombone section. we arent a section. we are one. the trombones are pretty much all brothers. plus it also helps that i could physically enforce our meetings if i had too that would defeat the purpose of the meetings tho -
im sorry to hear about that...best wishes to your sister.

Because some of the instruments in this world are so disgusting that they have the ability to make young children wet their pants. jk why did it take me this long(17 years) to realize that sweat pants are so freaking comfortable?

i wish our band director would give us section time near the end of our warm up period. i do it anyways though. before we go to warmups, i usually call my section over and we talk through the show, body moves, tempo changes, dynamics, etc. then we just stand together and focus-were really close so u can feel our mutual intensity-until we leave for the warm up area. then, after warmups, i say a few things to my section to get them focused and pumped. only problem is we have to hurry cuz we dont ACTUALLY get section time, were just the last section to leave -

so i have a question for you pixel, when you guys are about to perform i noticed that your director wanted high energy, he seemed to want the blood flowing(ie the desire to get caffeine in you guys, and your exaggerated mark time). how does that affect your performances? does it really help? just curious. it was an interesting warm up in my opinion -
i agree. also, congratz on the second place finish at the centennial marching festival. you guys looked great. really enjoyed your show

im glad to hear that you didnt hear any centennial students talking about state or bragging or anything like that. we try to stay classy(and oftentimes we fail because of immaturity). also, pixel, i was one of your band guides in finals. i was the guy. u probly dont remember me, me but, i was listening to what your director said about the judges, and ill have to admit, i kinda agree with him that the judging was a little off. i liked you guys show and thought u shoulda placed at least a little higher -

Yea, that kind of thing is unacceptable. But we tried our best to make everything run smoothly. It was the first time our band has ever hosted a competition. Sorry for any problems that occurred -

as someone who has been around marching for 4 yrs, and saw every band there in prelims(i go to centennial), i strongly disagreed with many judging decisions. it seemed like i was watching a different competition. but i guess thats how the cookie crumbles. also, i would like to apologize to sherman and aledo for the warm-up mix up during finals. one person's mistake led to that and we did our best to patch things up. once again, sry about the mix up
