They both have their pros and cons. Yea, DCI is usually fast paced marching and huge face melting brass chords(this is by no means all that it is) but marching band has musical depth and versatility that drum corps do not. you cant compare a brass sound to the airy quality of a flute, and vice versa. in my humble opinion, neither is better, both are awesome and fun to watch, and they should keep themselves separate(that isnt to say that they shouldnt build off of each other, maybe quote moves or riffs, you get the drift) -

sorry for the double post BUT.... i couldnt disagree more. it may seem this way at a surface level, but those to statements generally have some things in common: 1)the bands that perform the "leans" dont always do the best, ive seen that multiple times at competitions 2)the bands that perform the "leans" and do well, are bands that have superb marching basics and can perform the lean at a very advanced level 3)Bigger does not always equal better. Personally i have seen many huge bands beaten by smaller sized bands(we have done this numerous times) 4)bigger bands have a larger pool of students to select marchers from. there is a big difference between marching 100 people and marching your best 100 people -

understandable, but at least you have half of what they have. we dont even have that. good thing size isnt everything. i think aledo has around that many winds as well(dont quote me on that, i could be completely wrong) -

70 triangles is a heck of a lot of triangles. i like how you say 'only 100 winds.' we would LOVE to have 100 winds. we have 80 -

....exactly.... -edit- that was in response to freeze's first comment, but it fits for both imo -
because apparently an apple hit some guy named isaac newton on the head and it inspired him to figure things out about gravity and motion, which in turn led to the invention of caculus. what an @**... does anyone else prefer non-carbonated drinks to carbonated ones?

Area Predictions?

a jazz run deals with step size. not tempo. 210 is fast marching. 4 to 5 is pretty much jazz running. they are NOT the same thing -

dont worry about the comments. it happens. u cant control it and we understand its not the whole band, just a select few. otherwise, congratz on the first place finish in the area. didnt get to see you guys, but it was probably amazing. oh, and thanks for the compliment. -
