How about all the Frisco bands though?? 4 of them made finals, so I think we should focus on how far Liberty and Frisco has come over the years. And of course our alma maters seemed to be peaking which is great. -

I think The Colony was hurt by going first, not positive for sure but going first is never easy when you have 30 bands. -

Pretty sure 3rd place is Birdville. -
Area B Marching Competition

I love how everyone pretty much put their own band on top, not surprising but still pretty funny. Either way talk is cheap, let's just settle it on the field. Just keep in my mind a top band will be left out because of the ordinal system and a couple of bands will be extremely disappointed come Saturday. Still good luck to all and represent the region to the best of your ability. -
Area E Marching Contest

But wouldn't that be like 150 bands or so. How the heck are you going to organize that, plus you have to account for hotels and practice space. Just seems like a logistic nightmare to me. -
I think in a way it is a fair question to ask. Because truthfully why are you in band. What makes it that you are willing to go through those long hours of summer band in the Texas heat. What makes it that you are willing to devote 8 hrs a week to work with all your great band friends to perfect a show. What makes it that when you just want to stop you put in that extra push and play and march that much harder when your body is telling you to quit. What makes it that you literally give up a social life? So everyone why are you in band and what makes you to strive for excellence everytime whether on the field, during a concert, or just a simple practice with nothing but you and your horn.

Area E Marching Contest

Kids you guys need to GROW UP!!! Seriously when you talk smack the only one that looks bad is yourself. And I think everyone at one point or another doesn't agree with judges/refs. To put down anyone is disgraceful enough, focus on yourselves and not others. To be honest who cares what judges think of your show or how they rank it. That is all secondary to how YOU FEEL AND HOW YOU FELT ABOUT YOUR PERFORMANCE!!! If you gave it your all, and played and marched of 8 minutes of perfection that is what matters the most. @Fortissimo: Look I know you meant well but there were just so much problem with your post. You said you won't name names, but you did right before when you mentioned Cinco Ranch. And I understand you expect your band to only improve for the future, but doesn't everyone. Also about Langham Creek "You want to try harder" Are you serious??? Do you think those kids didn't put the same effort that you did, the heart and soul and passion that you did. It's one thing to question the judges, but you cannot question someone's heart because you might not agree with what the judge think. All I'm going to say is I get where your coming from, at one point or another we were all dumb high school kids, but seriously try to grow up its a part of life, and to be a leader you need to take command of your own group before worrying about other bands. -
Area B marching contest

of course I haven't seen anyone so my opinion might be off base, but I agree that this might be Mansfield year. They already knocked off two great bands and with Hebron not as strong as years past they definitely have a great shot. Colleyville also looks very good this year as well. Basically its a battle for those last two state spots because Bell and Marcus are guarantees or at least as close as a guarantee there is. -

Little Elm Results

WOW!!! Go Frisco totally did not see this result coming. I knew they have been much improved but to win a contest with some VERY SOLID bands like Argyle, The Colony and such is impressive. It's so nice to see them do well because of all the issues they had the past 4 years or so. -
Bold Prediction

Dude Marcus is good on ANY LEVEL!!! If anything they are a bit better on the UIL level. Besides they are incredible music wise and that is 60% of area/state. -
Birdville Marching Contest

Thanks for all the great summaries and talking about all these bands in such a positive light. I graduated from Wakeland a couple years ago and is still intrigued by what they put up. Although I don't particularly love this years show but they do a good job with it and I'm super proud of what they have accomplished in this short period of time. As for Marcus and Hebron those have always been two of my favorite bands to watch and I have no question its the same this year. And Legacy with all their cool electronics is really awesome too. I don't know about Central as well, only saw them once back in like 05 so doesn't really count -

Ok now I haven't seen them in person but for some reason I doubt the fact Colleyville has 96 or less winds in their band. -
That was all that needed to be said. Getting a guy like that is freaking amazing.

Looks like Coppell will be the favorite here with Mansfield and Rowlett a close battle for second. And how are bands like Colleyville Heritage and Lake Highlands in Division 2 anways. -
Partly because there are more contests to pick for this weekend. And I think some bands are choosing the closest location and not the toughest competition. You have this contest Little Elm and Birdville and all of them are a bit down because there are more contests to choose from. Also I know there are others just not sure what they are.

Who was 10th? Seems like a pretty even competition a couple very good 3A bands seem to have stolen the show though. And Lewisville being so low is very surprising in my eyes.
