how does awards go, does the flower mound and travis not get awards b/c they are not techinically top 10

i was looking at the prelims results and i cant believe the descripency between judges, its so inconsistent now i know why people dont like uil judging

so Marcus is thursday night and the rest of the texas schools are friday morning. that's interesting

legacy might be a new band, but they have a lot of experienced marchers from very good programs like mansfield high and summit. wakeland on the other hand is very young, this is the first year they have 4 year seniors

ur right wakeland is fairly new, so is legacy, newman smith has always been stuck in 5A and falling short, and southwest got screwed last area year. i still can't believe there will be no sherman they always seem like a fixture in 4A state

from what i've heard newman smith is 1st wakeland 2nd aledo 3rd and the colony 4th, i don't have anything after that though

just wondering does prelim rankings mean anything, b/c isn't finals they have random order?

i remember i feel in love with hebron back in 2006 with music in every direction. that ddr show was awesome and they keep on getting better, and i'm sure soon they'll challenge marcus and bell in the very near future

i agree they are drastically improved which is great for the district, and while they did well idk yet, but i think u (i'm assuming u go there) can maybe sneak into finals

i think its retarded if we have mega schools like plano we can be awesome in EVERYTHING. I mean even in 5A the talent level in frisco can compete with anyone

after dr. trent left in '06 they switched directors for the next 3 years with first hazzard now with creekview and ringel now with mckinney. yeah that program was really taking a hit for a while

u know i think all 4 bands that advance from this area has a really good chance of all making finals

that's good to hear, the only thing about wakeland after going there is they sometimes press and do too much during finals, which has hurt them in the past. hopefully that won't happen this year

i totally understand i probably would have put my band first so i have no objections with that, and besides i agree u guys are very strong, and its kinda hard to imagine a 4A state year w/o sherman but that looks like it legitmately might happen this year

i posted it on the state thread, but the important to thing to note is the first block is very tough. And my predictions are the exact same with the alternate being sherman. of course that's my opinion and having not seen any of these bands live, i'm just going off of what others think

what do u think of wakeland?

here's the performance schedule, and i find it really funny b/c the toughest block is the first one. wakeland birdville southwest little elm centennial legacy break seguin frisco mckinney granbury aledo break stephenville newman smith denison cleburne liberty joshua break crowley the colony rl turner sherman mckinney north timberview it seems like that first block really is going to set the standard for the rest of the day, and i think going early here seems like an advantage

last time at area wakeland was a first year school with 68 people, idk i am a bit biased since i went there, but i believe in these guys and i'm really hoping i get a chance to see them in san antonio in a couple weeks

ok i think u are being quite unfair. first of all unless u've actually seen them just looking at a number doesn't tell the whole story. 2nd of all its still early in the season and wakeland always improve dramatically the last couple weeks, and lastly i believe they did get 2nd in honor band over a lot of very good bands. finally they are just in their 4th year and to be already at the level their at is incredible

was ur wow at wakeland a good wow or a bad wow? and what did u think musical and visual wise of their show?

like what does the on-field judges do, how they scoring system work things like that
