  1. Because you don't HAVE to do anything. You wanna not do homework? Don't do it. You wanna not march when it's 10000 degrees? Don't do it. It's the consequences that cause you to complain instead of just not doing it. The perfect show: fact or fiction?
  2. Caught me finding an excuse to say Wang (because Wang is an awesome name).
  3. None of the above. Most people I post around are either A. Sherman kids or B. Centennial kids
  4. BTW: East is going to take the contest. Easily, imho. While I'm a big allen football supporter, I'm a big east band supporter (my cocky friend Eric from east is gone from these forums so I mostly have to take up the slack for him. Haha... plus east is just a really good band). I saw them at a game a few weeks ago, and oh my God... they've gotten SO much better this year.
  5. Posted below the poster who posted below the poster who posted below WANG!
  6. Our principal approved for us to miss 3 days. So, we get to miss Monday-Wednesday (Monday we'll be rehearsing at stadiums near our hotel, mostly and settling in, and Wednesday morning we leave). I miss 2 PAP Pre-Cal Classes 2 PAP French Classes 2 Wind Ensemble Classes (somehow, I don't think I'll miss much there. ) 2 US History Classes 1 English Class 1 Teacher's Aide class (for my band director... lol) 1 Instrumental Ensemble A class (AKA Wind Ensemble on B Days) 1 PAP Physics Class Yeah, life is good. Though... catching up will be heck. I hope the director gives us study halls when we get back. P.S. Thanks for the recognition. Second in honor band is tres amazing, and making it to state marching is awesome too.
  7. LD Bell? I don't doubt that. LD Bell is insane... I mean... if we could pull off some of the stuff that they've perfected... well.. jesus. Also would like to point out that I've never seen a slow jazz run either, to stress my point.
  8. Hmmm... We're working so we might not. If all goes well, I'll be on field the whole time and will get to see it for the third shift.
  9. It really just depends on what my jobs are going to be for my shifts. If I end up with concessions (which I'll complain about since SLs and DMs are supposed to have the most responsibility-filled jobs), I won't be diggin' it. If I get field monitor or judge runner or band guide, I'll be diggin' it. I'd love to be on the field for the third shift cuz that's when all the 5As perform.... Oh but you probably mean excited to compete... well... we're not competing so... sort of. Haha. Btw... for everyone that didn't know. One of our judges will be states finals judge so impress!
  10. Even though he's in college, he's still a fish.
  11. We have the trombones as one section then tuba/euphonium as one. We're calledthe low brass, and the trombones are the... well.. the trombones.
  12. Are we talking about the uhh.... thing we may or may not have added at the end of rehearsal yesterday?
  13. Oooher. We go right after lunch (ish). Maybe the judges will be nice, happy, and satisfied with their meals and therefor transfer that positive energy onto us....
  14. Al Capwned! We're all getting mean on these forums lately (not that I don't enjoy the show).
  15. The kind that's not broken Fuzzy bobbly, decorated pens or regular office pens?
  16. Yeah I was just gonna say... we're sort of there. I mean, we had to work our asses off to even get somewhat recognized, and now we're making state, and some are bitter about it. As a new school, I def think you have to work harder. Not that we're old... we're only 3 years older.
  17. I've never seen a band march at 210. I've seen them jazz run at 210 though (not a band, mind you, a drum corp) so yeah... I do think they're linked in some cases.
  18. Good since we're the reason Birdville isn't goign to state. XD Does life suck right now or is it pretty cool?
  19. Goes to a pretty kickass school in my books.
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing as many bands as possible. The way I see it: the more bands I see, the more I learn about marching, the more fun I have, the more I get to miss school. Bwahaha.
  21. LOL. Well, I was thinking about actual card games. I'm a big Spades player... there isn't a club card game... or is there...? Dun dun dunnn. The conspiracy continues. But back on topic: I also thing it's tres cool to stand up for your band.
  22. Oh I think y'all will easily be the best frisco school *competing* at CMF so no worries.
  23. 210 isn't even marching tempo. It's jazz run tempo.
  24. All of that fixed by: no talking on the field. Including section leaders (unless the band needs some motivation or something is drastically off).
  25. Do they have lots of merch at state? My 'rent are giving me 100 bucks just to buy merch. I want to get a spitload of stuff that has "UIL state marching" on it besides just patches and whatnot. I def. would be interesting in a meetme thing. I've been participating in this site for a while now, and heck, I'm curious to meet some people (besides the oodles of CHS people that post on here because I already know who all fo them are).
