Yeah, those guys were doing it all in good fun. We dont hate Cedar Park :] A few kids have some weird inside jokes about Jeremy Spicer, but thats all. And our old percussion director Paul Pape is there now, so we respect yall, except for the whole friendly competition thing Oh Briggs? He played Bass 3 last year, and yeah, I saw it happen. He almost completely chopped the tip of his middle/fourth finger off (as well as breaking them) by tripping over the synth speaker he was rolling and having his drum crush his finger. It was hanging off and lajsdlf;jsdf;lsda it was disgusting. He just looked at me in horror and held up his hand and I screamed, "GO TO THE NURSE !!" and almost fainted. But he is good. Healed fingers, still has all 10 lol, and he is now on tenors. I hope so too . and Thank you ! Oh and yes, we are going to Westlake lol We have our first football game/performance in the ALAMODOME TOMORROW. The freshmen are going to freak.

Oh yeahhh. Our student section is a bunch of stupid jerks who just yell and are really annoying, and they always beg for the battery to come over and play cadences for them to dirty dance to during the game But yeah, they were huge jerks to the leander band, saying LEANDER BAND SUCKS, which they replied to our director by saying "we were supporting OUR band" but that wasnt the right thing, and they were banned from having the battery play for them for the next game, as well as being yelled at by our directors. Deserves them right. I'm sorry that some of our student body are jerks. But thank you for that comment

I'm a senior :] and I'm not taking any off periods this semester because of band, and it would be stupid to come to school, leave for an hour and a half and come back for school/band rehearsal/theatre/etc. I'm also taking basically all electives except 2 classes that are required. haha My Schedule though: A Days 1. Band- same old, same old. 2. Photo Journalism- this is going to be a really cool class, and the teacher is really chill, and we get to work in the darkroom 3. Theatre 4- amazing, except not all of my friends are in that period. 4. Communication App (Speech)- fun class thats pretty chill. B Days 5. Art 1 (havent been to it yet, because on the second day of school i was in Instrumental Ensemble, but I got out of it because I have taken that class 3 yrs in a row, and I havent taken art since elementary school lol, but ive heard i have a cool teacher) 6. PAP Latin 3 (my only class that will be pretty difficult probably. but i have sweet friends in it, so ill be good) 7. Government (taught by a coach, who is hilarious, so that class will be fun and easy) 8. AP English 4 (I have the ridiculously easy AP english 4 teacher, where we do fun stuff (like we have SSR and journal time hahaha) while the other teacher's class writes 13 sonnets and lots of essays haha!) Easy year

Yeah, I think the main thing was that this was probably the first time in recent competition that Georgetown beat Cedar Park at a contest. So, the beating of Cedar Park went to some select few people's heads, especially since BOA SA was coming up, and they got a little tooooo happy. I hope you understand that our band program is not like that, and that was just some individuals who decided to poke fun at what happened at Westlake 2007. I'm definitely a good apple

Wow, I didn't know Area D 3A were performing at my high school's new stadium in Georgetown. That's nice to know, because a few of my friends and I were wondering if we there would be any band competitions there. We're 5A though, so we will only use the stadium for practice, and football games. Our stadium is brand new, ready for it's first season, this fall. It's no where near as big as "The Palace" in Round Rock, But we do have a jumbotron, and a big press box, which will be good for competition. I think we have Astroturf also. Much better than our old old old stadium that was used for 50 years. -

urkadrums replied to stewiemylove's topic in General Off-Topic
Paper Planes-M.I.A., the song in the trailer for Pineapple Express. My goodness, I've had that song stuck in my head for almost two weeks now. "all i wanna do is BANG BANG BANG BANG, and a KA-CHINGGG, and take your money" lol -

Director Changes
urkadrums replied to Moose's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Yeah we lost Pape, along with Tyler Dempsey, our pit tech. Luckily, he is still our percussion arranger for the show this year. Along with Leach, we now have Jeff Otto, replacing Tyler's position. This was the biography we got about him. Mr. Otto is currently completing his doctorate in percussion performance at the University of Texas at Austin. Before moving to Austin, he received his master's degree from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he was the graduate teaching assistant to Gordon Stout, and his bachelor's degree from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas under the direction of Kevin Bobo. In addition to his studies over the last three years, Mr. Otto performs regularly with the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra, and was just recently placed on the sub-list of the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami, Florida. He has also performed in concert with Dr. Tom Burritt at the Leigh Howard Stevens Summer Marimba Seminar and was a soloist with the UT Graduate Percussion Quartet at the 2006 PASIC. -
