Thats exactly what my teacher said, but I'm slightly glad for the break. I woke up to morning after Region singing the mallet etude for drums. I maybe need a little time off.

I'm in region 2 so are only real competition was Keller, Fossil Ridge, and Denton Amazingly, there were like 89 people there and most of them were just there to get their letter jacket. Listening to one note being played got quite annoying after a while.

What region are you in?

For those of you who have had your region, I'm curious as to how stiff the competition was for drummers. Mine was not that bad at all; there were a lot of people who didn't play half the etudes.
