1 Poteet 2 Plano East 3 Wylie 4 Dripping Springs Wakeland was by far the most entertaining to me

uhh Boyd came in 6TH at Plano East Boyd is a great band and they ended up in 17! This wasn't a competition for little kids, so don't feel bad. Someone has to come in 22nd. Also logically judges aren't as methodical when determining 22nd as they are for 2nd. So maybe you did deserve better. I hope you enjoyed the day and at least have fun. I think that's one of Sherman's downfalls this year. We didn't have many "artsy fartsy" visuals that apparently the state judges tend to favor. We weren't very dramatic and we didn't have our woodwinds lay down for an entire section of a show, and we didn't have minute long visuals. We especially never laid down our horns to spin around a few times. Our mindset was to march faster(and slower), longer, louder than any band. To have the most physically demanding show in Texas. And I believe that we did. Thats why we would run a half a mile every rehearsal. But apparently that's not how things work down here in Texas, and hopefully our directors realize that now. Nevertheless, most of the bands in finals were amazing, and im glad to know that we are ranked among them.

Anybody at the SMC knows how bad the PA system was. It was horrible, especially if you were near an end zone. I am not sure, but it appeared that when Connally advanced to Finals, The Colony started cheering, thinking they had advanced.

Thats pretty cool. But its going to be pretty awkward on Tuesday night too, if one band beats the other. Unless some other band beats them both, and then they will have a common enemy to hate. But a friendly hate. Hopefully

If you ever want to warn your band or section about not becoming over-confident, just use Sherman as an example. We lost the passion our show requires, and that was reflected in our rankings. Luckily, we will get one more chance to redeem ourselves.

The more posts you have, the more you advance among the band hierarchy. Its in increments of 50 posts I believe.

About 30 minutes North of McKinney. Which is like 45 minutes North of Dallas. Or About 20 minutes from Oklahoma

Their show is very neat. It has a catchy hook. And some cool sets.

I don't think thats very difficult, as long as you have a good arranger. And their band director, Mr. Filowoski(sp?) is very good at arranging music. So good, that he arranges Sherman's music...
