  1. I was wondering, who placed ahead of DS at area?
  2. Grace, I like being a jerk to you, its fun.
  3. Maybe that's why they placed 3rd at area?
  4. I remember 2 years ago, our flute section was slacking off and not doing very well. So the trumpet section leaders chewed them out one day and made a bunch of flutes cry.
  5. So will the famous Danpod be at the SMC on Tuesday? If you are, Id like to say hi to you, and other fellow forum members.
  6. Except he can't do that, he is a senior
  7. Hey Chickora, We are going to be in Round Rock tomorrow afternoon rehearsing.
  8. The universal rule for loosing any competition in any event: If you didn't win, it was because... the judges were biased/the refs were unfair/the winners cheated/the sun was in my eyes
  9. Well I guess we will see on Tuesday whether The Colony really improved that much in a week, or we will see the huge fallacies of the CMF judging.
  10. Thats just a tradition Sherman has. But sadly not all the sections held a sectional for Finals, because we had to warm up right after dinner.
  11. I understand that the GE score was only 10% I guess what I should have said is that its alot different than the UIL judging. Because UIL had the 4As placed at 1.Sherman 2.Aledo 3.The Colony and CMF had us placed at 1.The Colony 2.Aledo 3.Sherman I am sure all 3 bands made great improvements over a week But the only thing I believe the Colony does better than Sherman and Aledo is their GE. They have a very "neat" show. So I logically assumed that The Colony did well at CMF because of GE.
  12. And UIL isn't as influenced by "General Effect", as opposed to the CMF. I am very curious to see whether Dripping Springs will finish above all of the Area B bands at state.
  13. What was up with that person from Centennial sitting on the field after the Centennial performance? What happened? And will they be okay for State?
  14. Joshua was 5th, and Birdville was 6th
  15. I like how many of the Sherman kids before the Frisco contest were confident and cocky, and now, we are a bunch of sore losers. I love you guys, but get over yourselves. We still have to earn it.
  16. It was cool to meet some people on here. I didn't get to meet Borchnork, but im pretty sure I saw him in passing. And it kinda sucked that the finals warmups were all mixed up. And also that whole "Not Sherman, Dripping Springs" mixup is unacceptable to me. I honestly believe that Sherman deserved 8th in prelims, because we just had a bad show. Its only a shame that judges that judge both prelims and finals don't like moving bands up more than a few ranks for finals. But this was a very humbling experience for Sherman. I enjoyed it.
  17. Yeah... I especially like the entire minute of Keller's show where the woodwinds lay down. I wish Sherman had the ability to execute something like that. Or what about their minute long drum break that was nothing but visuals? That was a pretty intense show.
  18. One marching judge at area gave us 1st and the other gave us 6th because he was very familiar with our show and had a pretty good idea of where to look. If you want to interpret that as beating us in marching, then go ahead... But don't get too cocky now.
  19. I find it interesting that Poteet uses Urban Dances as their closer, and Sherman uses it as our opener. As cool and fun as it is to listen to it, I don't think its very climatic or impactful enough from a musical stand point, and if Poteet is to fall from triangle grace this year, that could be a factor. Or they might still blow everyone away and take state again.
  20. ... =^/ it really sucks. But its actually animosity between one person and the rest of the band. Nevertheless, Sherman has had worse. Last year we had a freshman who was suspended from school for being an incestial child molester. He would also steal money and electronics from people's locker in our band hall while we were rehearsing outside.
  21. Foobly. Dude. Just because we have gotten alot better means nothing. There can still be bands there that blow us out of the water. Hype doesn't count. We still have to earn it. If you truly felt confident, you would wait until after State to start bragging...
  22. haha Uh oh... I mean dudette I guess.. Please don't give me laps Mr. Drum Major
  23. I agree with the fact that leans and size don't make good bands good. But whens the last time a 5A State Champion had less than 200 members? Or when's the last time a 4A Champion had last than 125 members?
  24. Dude, this is Texas. The 2 universal marching band rules for Texas are: 1. The more "leans" the better 2. Bigger equals better
