1. first time westfield won UIL state (yes we use to do uil lol ) they were playing german christmas music 2. heres an inside joke for all u whs kids ( B2 ) ROFL 3. the cieling of our band hall is very high and 1 of the little tile things were knocked out and so 1 year someone threw 1 of those small metrenomes up there and it was ON - clicking away for the next ..how many months ..and u could hear it down on the band hall floor 4. in the locker rooms ..at the corners where the lockers meet, there are big holes behind the locker and ppl use to throw trash back there...enough tot the point where it reached the tops of the lockers

so i wanted to start up a new thread to liven up the forums and heres it post random facts about any band/corp that you think others might not know or you just think are cool/funny ill start off... 1. LD Bell use to be a military marching band 2. westfield use to be called south spring high 3. Philip Gieger (former westfield head director (retired)) made a bet against the band that if we were to win gran nats in 03 he would get braids (unluckly for him a couple students heard him and he stood up to the challenge)

theres a reason they put the copyright right there...so u cant take it off.. u could always take it off ..but then behind it would just be empty white from where the letters were and u would have to color it in...waste of time...just buy the pics

lol i would totally join (i live right in houston) but i dont have the musical background on a brass or percussion instrument to do it :/

i took music theory this past year (or atleast something resembling it lol) and i was lucky to have a couple people in the music industry talk with us. One was Wayne Downey and another was Mark Higinbotham, both well known for music they've written and work they have done with schools and other music organizations (ie: corps) One thing that Mr. Higginbotham said was that he was "Very lucky" to make a living off of his music. "only about 1 out of 9 (or more i dont remember) can actually make a living off of writing music." Mr. Downey also pointed this out. He also stated that he grew up loving music (even pointing out the ipod he was carrying with him and telling us what he was listening to 5 minutes before). He said if you really like music u should follow your dream and take that path. ^both of these ppl - really cool & down to earth and respect a kid the same way they would an adult (just my 2 cents) now heres a joke.. "the money maker job and become a dentist" lol a dentist is just someone who dropped out of medical school

^ lol most of the fingerings are similar to clarinet - so it makes it easier i played my brothers 6th grade solo with little error lol (except low notes)
