  2. Copperas Cove was 12th last year and is much improved this year with the help of Zack Travis and staff. Midway was 17th last year at Area.
  3. Boerne was the only 4A to compete at the 5A contest that Region 29 held. The rest of the 4A groups go today.
  4. Reading BandKidRack23's posts, there seems to be quite a bit of hate for Vandy on almost every post this kid has made since Sept 24th when they joined. I hope you're right and they aren't a Rouse kiddo.
  5. Highlands received a 2 yesterday and will not be at Area.
  6. I believe that Lake Belton will surprise quite a few at this contest.
  7. Champion Charger Marching Classic Hays Warren Boerne Marshall (Tie w/ Fredericksburg) Fredericksburg (Tie w/Marshall) Wimberley Hondo Bandera Poth Highlands
  8. Attending Bands Group 2 (60-99 performers) Akins HS, John B. Connally HS, Manor HS, Troy HS, Wimberley HS Group 3 (100-139 performers) Cleburne HS, Holmes HS, John M. Champion HS, Smithson Valley HS Group 5 (171+ performers) Hutto HS, Jack C. Hays HS, James Madison HS
  9. I wouldn't count out Harper from Area D. They were the Silver Medalists last year.
  10. Not true, competing band directors get full breakdown of scores via Competition Suite, just like Area.
  11. (7) 6A Programs went to GN's last year, which was a 6A State year for them.
  12. This doesn't seem very realistic. There would have to be 70 quality/qualified judges for the 5A area weekend alone. State only required 7 total (and they were among the best of the best). I think finding 70 (including percussion specialists and music/visual content design) would be almost impossible to pull off.
  13. I am sure you didn't read that anywhere for Area. The only difference is in State Finals, where the timer is cut and not running.
  14. Because they are going to Grand Nats, they have chosen to go to BOA Waco that weekend instead.
  15. Hays and MacArthur are now 5A
  16. Region 18 goes on Tuesday 10/11 as well. All 7 should receive 1st divisions. M&G Johnson is opting not to go to Area, but their 1st division will count towards the total numbers at Area.
  17. New staff except for the HD. I doubt that will cause much of a wrench in their season though.
  18. I believe that Rock Hill will surprise many groups this year. Don't know about a state berth but they will continue to turn heads.
  19. M&G was 4A last year and the school is even bigger this year. Must be a typo
  20. Johnson is not going to 6A Area D this year. They will be forgoing it like Bowie did last year.
  21. Jack C. Hays HS will be attending.
