People are saying LCM is pretty good but I'm not sure, just like you, I've never seen half of the ones that are going to be at Area.

I have problems with mainly two people in my section because all they do is talk and most of the time they'll talk to someone else in another section. As a section leader I'm not sure how to deal with things considering when I confront them they listen for a lil' while then they usually just don't care. I'm not sure the best way is discipline but I'm not sure.

Usually in my band (dickinson), the drum majors don't really assign push ups or laps anymore. The only time that they do assign laps is when the freshmen don't bring out the pit stuff or speakers. As for push ups, we can get those if the band director assigns them for messing up way too much or not having as much dicipline as we usually do. I think it's totally necessary for the success of the band.

What's the point of getting offended...so clearly i'm not, just because band people are way more intelligent and well rounded than others =]

In our band we say "Let me see ya get down" and it usually isnt to the whole band, just one person. As for the other hey band thing we do stuff like asking the position which they are holding in their band, what class, and some random question. Sort of like fav. color or cereal or something.

Does anyone know why Nederland isn't on the Area F area schedule?

I can't wait until saturday, for Area F's area competition. It's going to be kick A$$! =]

I don't think the results for region 9 will pop up anytime soon chris. We might as well just go to bed and await for the news from jakubas or mac.

Today was feeling really good outside except the fact I kept getting blown away by the wind. I think I might be in love with the Texaco's french vanilla cappuccino =]

Yeah, Dickinson's drumline is pretty bad a$$ this year. Way better since last year and the year before.

At dickinson we march 4 basses and they all use neck straps because our attention position. I think it helps a lot and the tan isn't that bad if you actually wear shirts that fit at the base of your neck.

There is much more to come with Dickinson's perfomance. As for Friendswood I think it was a good sound as a whole but as for the show itself, my band didn't care for it as much as our show which is probably because the tempo's weren't as exciting as ours but it was an awesome job. As for Santa Fe, I think it was a good show but the one thing that will hold them back from going to state possibly is maybe their way too many visuals. I think they walk around more than marching. In my opinion Area for area F will be a good contest with lots of competition.

I do agree that Dickinson has come a long way since last time we went to state. I think Area will have great competition with Friendswood and Santa Fe at our sides. As for Angleton and Texas city I wish them the best of luck on next years show. Good luck at Area and be prepared to show your stuff.
