so poteet's parents and fan club tend to be jerks. There's nothing you can do about it. When you start complaining and insulting them back, you're just as bad. You just have to keep telling yourself that you are so much better than that. And laugh (: b/c c'mon... that's kind of rediculously funny.. Stealing people's 50ydln seats? Jesus... (:

That was civil. In fact, that was censored. I would also have to say that the moderators would probably agree with me. There are some people who just don't want their personal info divulged to the entire world. That's all. -

I was actually stoked for Wakeland to have beaten Centennial. The show was clean, and from what I'd heard at the time, you guys there had worked HARD for it!! I personally didn't like Canton's show.. am I the only one? They barely broke the back hash, or the 30's... -

Hobbling around on the field? Ha! Don't even pull that card. You can't. Anyways, wasn't Joshua closer to beating Centennial and not TC? I personally (no disrespect, b/c the show was mildly clean) believe that they ranked where they ranked b/c of the huge mousetrap props... btw genericwit.. in your sig, you have Academy Drum and Bugle Corp. - Corp. is short for Corporation. Corps. It offends some people. -

I think you're right in this opinion. I've marched in the Alamodome; it's different, but not bad. I think everyone that hasn't marched there before is gonna have a blast, and it'll be an experience you never forget. If there's one piece of advice I have, it's to not leave anything out there questionable. Don't walk off that field saying "that wasn't my best". Even if it's prelims, make it the best; you may not get another chance... Remember, it's all about what five people think of your product that day. They don't care that you vomited at rehearsal last thursday. They don't care that you lost a girlfriend or two due to marching. They don't care if you've spent 100+ hours rehearsing. You all just gotta show them that YOU deserve the highest rank. -

I really don't care, that isn't the first time. We have login names for a reason. And I speak for a lot of people when I ask you not to do that. -
I can't wait to see all corps this season. (: Looking forward to mayyybbeee seeing the scouts in the top 12 again...

Okay seriously, for privacy reasons, can we not call people by their first names? Thanks. -

Because they use a different marching style. Not every marching style is straight legged, toes to the sky, chin to the horizon. It's marching. Trust me. -

Not its not. Period. No their not. Watch Star of Indiana 1991, they go 216 in their closer, and they are not jazz running for the most part. And no marching band could ever go 210 for an entire two minutes jazz running anywho. You have to take in the variable "x" for marching bands v. corps: Unathletic people. I have, it's called a JAZZ WALK. What's slow running? WALKING. In fact, the jazz walk was my forward march ballad tempo style at Drum Corps this summer. PWNED MFCKR. I'm sorry I just hate people that think they know what their talking about. It definately is impressive, but that's only what it says on the music. Again, take in the human variable. Drum majors tend to take higher velocity tempii and slow them WAYYYY down. Again, look at Dickinson; they are a POWERHOUSE. Not just anybody can take 100-sumthin people and go 196. /claps/. 200 isn't so bad. You just have to get your body to move that way. I mean, look; you thought jazz running was hard, but now it's not. All about the repitition. -

I guess you could say the both vice versa. I have seen the Cascades show in '06, and it is Ascension like. It's a good show concept, I'll give it that I am in no way bashing anyone here, I'm just asking. If I offended you, I apologize. I just think (IMHO) that bands need to be original. Continuing my above comments, I just think that marching bands should be original. I'm not saying that just because the Cavaliers did 007, doesn't mean that no one else can; I'm not meaning to incite that at all. I just think that playing an EXACT copy of a DCI book in marching band is lame. No disrespect to directors at all. I just know that all band directors have to be INCREDIBLY talented to do what they do - why not channel that creativity into developing an original show theme? I have seen two 4A bands this year copy almost VERBATUM (minus some cuts due to time restrictions) a DCI book, in case anyone is wondering (: -

I march with Centennial I can't wait for state. I marched in the Alamodome at the DCI Southwestern Championship, and I can't WAIT to do it again!!! It's sooo much funn. Nice on the low brass section leader. Same here, but Trumpet. Except, I march sousaphone... It's a long story, if you wanna know come find me @ CMF on Saturday. Y'all are gonna be there if I'm not mistaken -

Okay no disrespect to anyone here, But does it bug anyone else when H.S. Marching bands attempt to play old DCI books? That bugs me. I feel that a marching show should be original.. Plus: Leave drum corps to drum corps. They leave marching band to marching band. The two activities are on two completely different levels, with very little commonalities. That being said, notice how I didn't say "DCI kicks marching bands a**!!!" I don't believe in that. I know for a fact that you sure as heck can't go to a DCI show and hear a beautiful wind ensemble sound... much less a balanced sound. I also know that no marching band yet has had the power to blow my face off like SCV or Phantom... They both have their ups and downs. But seriously, what's y'alls thoughts on my question??? -

what.. post... I'm sorry if this offends anyone, No disrespect, but all dynastys fall.. I think it's time for Poteet to fall off their horse. I don't want them to do badly I just want a different band to win... Sherman showed hope earlier this year.
