Trumpet of Doom

Okay...well, to me. Marching band entitles a band to show their skills in both marching and playing, or simultaneously. Yes impact sets and emotional moments may require the band to halt and play. But, the point of marching band is that the physical motion has been added in order to emphasize a new challenge of sounding absolutely amazing while also looking good. Just my two cents.

Woodlands 2008 is called "Rhapsody."

Because it's called marching band for a reason.

My band got disquallified from UIL State.

Us here at The Woodlands are quite upset about this happening, but I still wish everyone in Area F including Northshore good luck at state. If anyone is interested in the reason for our disqualification, go to twhsband.com.

I never had a chance to see L.D. Bell's show, my mom said it was all guard and kinda boring though...

I think the music actually is by Rochmoninoff. (sp?)

I'm very excited for this competition, it is definantly gonna be a show down of a large amount of fantastic bands. From the predictions I see most people think that L.D. Bell will win, and that The Woodlands or Winston Churchill will get the silver. Only time will tell...

Your hat fell off?

I remember that part in their show, always made the audience laugh. As for the pre-recorded sounds, I think as long as a student is initiating the sound when it is needed to be played during the show. I'm fine with it.

Some people prefer is all the music was made by the band members, such as a pit member playing the piano but just having recorded sounds playing gets on some peoples nerves. I don't mind that at all, what what does get on my nerves is if the miced wind players aren't actually playing what you hear.

Yeah i'm so pumped to be competing against such a fantastic band, i'm really looking forward to BOA Houston.

Their guard always has stunning uniforms and flags, I loved their yellow ones last year. I'm looking forward to seeing them at State.

Phantom Regiment 2003.

Hm, very nice. Beginning was a little slow for my tastes though.

They're more than a bit longer, about 4 inches and they look really weird. But, I love our new hats, we can pretty much stab people if we head butt them. Or atleast blind them with the shinyness.

I dunno what game this is for me, but since i'm a senior i'm gonna make sure I make the best out of every single football game/competition.

Just think about how many people would get pissed off if they added woodwinds, i'd rather not that happen cause i'll be one of them.

Wow, thats pretty cool looking actually.

Okay, well you can barely hear woodwinds, brass instruments look more powerful since all of them require 10 degrees horn heights, and I find it easier to balance music with just brass.

Well atleast we're going for something original this year.

"Sequenza" was really hard to march but I still liked "Hide and Seek" better.

Well I hope Phantom goes all the way this year to get their own title.

DCI + Brass = Yes. DCI + Brass + Woodwinds = No. Enough said.
