  1. I just adore the Leander show. I notice something new each time. Curious that both here and at BOA Austin, the announcer said they were from Austin instead of saying Leander… Though, he also pronounced Buda like Buddha when announcing Johnson LOL.
  2. I also noticed in the compiled numbers that Round Rock is now over 3,800! I know at one time there was talk of RRISD planning HS #6 in Pearson Ranch. Does anyone know if that is still on the table or did that get scrapped? Also, sad to see that 2 of 3 bond proposals failed here in Leander ISD by very small percentage.
  3. Leander is my favorite show this season! It is SOOOO MUCH FUN! Their ensemble sound is so rich and gorgeous! They sell the heck out of that program sooooo well!
  4. Wakeland was incredible - I love all those wave forms in the drill and they do it so well!
  5. Over the past few alignments the 6A number has generally risen by 30 or 40 each time, so not big leaps, so will be interesting to see where it falls this time. The current 6A cutoff is 2220. There's a few others right around that who we could see moving. Weiss's number is 2298, North Forney is 2292, Fort Bend Stephen F. Austin is 2259, Highland Park is 2245.5 so they are all above the current 6A cutoff, so we'll see. Current 5A's Wylie East (turned in 2486) and Rock Hill (turned in 2499) are headed to 6A. Leander's number is 2202, so provided the cutoff number doesn't decrease, they'll stay 5A. North Mesquite and Abilene look like they'll move down to 5A. And, Lake Belton is a current 4A, but turning in 2123, they'll absolutely move up. For Argyle, they are currently in Region 2 which is currently zoned to Area B for 5A schools, along with 24 and 25, so they'd be in with all the Frisco ISD schools, provided TMEA/UIL keep the current regions zoned to the current areas.
  6. I second that request! 😅
  7. Was holding my breath until they called Leander! These are good picks - the only real surprise for me is no Lone Star - I thought they were fantastic.
  8. Sure! Why not? Summit Wakeland Roma Rouse Highland Park Cedar Park Hendrickson Lone Star Forney Aledo Leander Colleyville Heritage
  9. Leander sounds soooo good! Such a beautiful ensemble sound and great dynamics! They make the softs sound just as important as the louds. I love the interplay between the horn soloist and woodwinds in the ballad - it just shimmers! And holy tuba low note! I felt that note down to my toes!
  10. I know I said it for the Waco discussion but my goodness the piccolo soloist in Aledo’s closer sounds SOOO INCREDIBLE! Just such a relaxed resonant tone and ease of note changes. Bravo!
  11. CP and Hendrickson both were great! I just love those rotating X's the woodwinds do in CP's show while playing all those notes. It's incredible. Hendrickson is not even the same band that I saw at BOA Austin - what a great trajectory of improvement since the beginning of the season - wow!
  12. All of the top 5 will be from an LISD
  13. Y’all, this one was so much fun! It was really cool to have a mostly 5A contest while the 6As were off at Area. Great tuneup for 5A state for a few and a great redemption for a few that just missed 5A state.
  14. So neat from Summit! This ballad is absolutely stunning, both how they play it and how it’s captured in the drill.
  15. Hats off to the piccolo soloist at Johnson during Young Person’s Guide - bravo! An absolute flurry of notes!
  16. I’m out of breath after just watching CP! Sooo much demand on the move and all done so well!!
  17. That was sooo fun and exciting from Hendrickson!! Has to be an absolute blast to perform!
  18. Wow! Maybe the least crazy of the prelims sheets we’ve seen today so far.
  19. Great music! Journey Through the Snow is such a perfect ballad. Gives me goosebumps here just like it does when I go to the ballet.
  20. All those rotating blocks diamonds and pass-through Rock Hill does in the opener are super! Guard also on fire with the tosses! Wow!
  21. The live blog is showing: 7:30 - Dawson 7:45 - Clements 8:00 - Clear Brook 8:15 - Clear Falls 8:30 - Dickinson 9:00 - Brazoswood 9:15 - Clear Lake 9:30 - Pearland 9:45 - Stephen F. Austin 10:00 - Shadow Creek
  22. This is a great group- 6 will face off again at 5A State. Exciting to see Johnson and Rock Hill who were both well placed at their 5A Area contests, but weren’t enough spots. Great job Summit in the top 6!
  23. Whoa! Loved that moment in Rock Hill’s show when they flew around the sun!! Brilliant! Sky is the limit for this new program!!
