That performance was one of our worst to date, I was just trying to share what the show was like overall. And the parents who filmed it were parents of a child in our Alternate block.....so half the time you were watching people march who would not be there at a competition.

Well I would have to say that Cedar Park it still Cedar Park. None of the above changed. (except Spicer)

I don't really know, but our staff this year is much better IMO. I just am slightly offended that Cedar Parks standards have been lowered....

First of all let me just say.....Ouch. Cedar Park was excellent before Jeremy Spicer, in fact the year before he was here we were 2nd place in the state(we have not done that good since then). The year he showed up was a BOA year, and we did not place in finals. The next year he was in charge we got 20th in state. The year after that we got 12th at BOA finals, and this year 4th at state. It's not about the director. It's about the students. Last year our brass consisted of mostly sophomores and juniors. This year those powerhouse brass players are either all juniors or seniors (more air = more volume). Plus our staff this year is equally as excellent. Spicer seems to know quite a bit about marching from his personal experience, but the best he ever did in corps was 2nd. Our new head of visual for marching band, (Bob Chreste) got 1st the year spicer got 2nd.(Hmm) He is also older and has more experience in teaching marching. I believe this program has been getting better for the past few years, and has nowhere to go but up. But hey, I don't really need to say all this, because the field tells all.

Cedar Park High School's first halftime performance! it's from a funky angle...so all the bad stuff is really exposed...and the parent who filmed it is a big fan of the A-team... but it's got our dance set routine and then parts 1 and 2 of our show in it if you're interested in seeing. I'd love to hear your thoughts members of txbands (part 2 link in reltated vids) ((it's HALFTIME part 2, not just football game part 2)) PS We don't actually get quiet around 8:25 or something...that's a camera thing. What happens is we actually got louder there...you have to turn up your speakers or something to get the effect because the camera volume wigged out.

Yes he in fact is. He is going to be head director of a new school in the district, Vandegrift High School, which is splitting from Cedar park, and they will be opening as a 4A band. They will be competing in State (if they make it that far), and I hope for them to be a major contende their first year. I know they will be once they band gets larger.

I'm thinking I might want to do this....but I'm not available until July...so it's probably not gonna happen. I'm pretty sure I could make a lead baritone though...

Hmm....=l I thought my information was sound...it appears my sources were wrong. I've never asked him about it..but I've heard about it from other people. Oh well...sorry for the bad info. On a good note our newest staff member will be the son of Donnie VanDoren. =O

He's not leaving till the end of this year...which is about now I guess.

And another director (Bob Chreste) was the Brass Caption Manager for the 08 season, also the former head director for carolina crown.

And another thing...I know this is pretty closed minded and all...but I really wish they would have Nationals in Texas just one year at least.... I'm willing to bet they'd see a little more talent showing up..
