Hebron GE (this one is TOUGH- top 3 are neck and neck) 1. Hebron 2. Carmel 3. Avon 4. The Woodlands and GE ranking is how I'd have them overall
  3. I believe most of the highly competitive drum lines do this as well, though not all. I know for sure that Marcus does

  5. I’m pretty sure this Wylie’s first BOA regional finals appearance EVER if you can believe that- and they nearly won! Congrats to them
  6. yeah, it seems like they had the same judges all day so scores should be fairly comparable
  7. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-xracmZQMAqu4WifoWKW7G6U838oBcoUwvcuVzjAv-E/edit?pli=1#gid=0 Some intriguing results here. Seems like Wakeland has really come into their own lately. Also, I didn't realize Quiyan Murphy was at Highland Park now (he was my 6th grade percussion teacher waaaaay back in the day lol). Having been one of the absolute strongest drumlines in the state the last few years, their finish here was surprising. And coming off of a surprise tie win at HEB last week over Marcus, it was also a little surprising to see Byron Nelson and Timber Creek a bit lower than I would have expected.
  8. Actually they’d be the third! LD Bell won honor band way back in 1971
  9. They’d be the second I believe- Westfield has earned all 4 of those distinctions
  10. so impressed with what Southlake Carroll pulled off here. After Bedford, I really didn't think they had it in them but that finals run was fantastic. Everyone counted them out and then they showed up and really were the best TX band in Indy this weekend.
  11. the woodlands on track for potentially their highest state finish ever. the podium is within grasp!
  12. wow brewer, great season this year
  13. did lake highlands drop as well? not seeing this on their calendar
  14. Forney conspicuously missing from many predictions here 🤔 Is that because of their score at HEB? I feel like they could even push for top half here
  15. In the 90s, but not since they’ve become a national powerhouse.
  16. I’m pulling for Cy-Fair here. They’ve got the goods this year!!!
  17. impressive showing from Lewisville- I caught a video of their USBands performance and they sounded great, really high energy
  18. I looked it up and the last (and only) time they placed outside the top half of finals at this contest was in 1991...make of that what you will
  19. Just something to note- LD Bell hasn’t placed outside the top half of finals here since…idk, ever?? Maybe sometime in the 90s? Lots have them missing top half here, mostly due to strong early season showings from other bands, but in my personal experience, every time I count LD Bell out I end up being wrong, especially at this contest.
  20. Looks like Lake Ridge is missing from the Wylie predictions page, could we add them? thanks!!
  21. looking at the recaps here, it's interesting to note that while JBA won this pretty comfortably by almost a full point and sweeping captions in the process, only one judge (VGE) had them in first place. how often does that happen?
  22. I checked their calendar and it's really there...might be something to this
  23. according to the hornrank forums, looks like Vista Murrieta might come to this?? they have a BOA event location TBD on their calendar for this date and the only other regionals that day are New Jersey and Alabama...👀
  24. Yes, you're right, though technically speaking the highest score overall that year was Azle in D2 Silver with a 94.67. If memory serves me correctly, at that time, if a D2 group posted the highest score, even when judged by an entirely separate panel as they were in those days, they'd recognize them as the highest scoring group, even though Cedar Park was in all likelihood the stronger drumline. It happened again the next year when LBJ HS in Austin had the highest score, again in D2 Silver, while John Horn had the highest D1 score of the night. Unless I'm totally making all this up, lol, the first time I distinctly remember the Caldwell Cup going to the highest scoring D1 group when a D2 group had technically outscored them was Cedar Ridge in 2016 with Forney posting a higher score in D2. Now the contest is a bit smaller and usually has just one panel so it doesn't matter anymore.
