  1. Both Leander and Westlake are playing Dance of the Jesters from what I hear. how fun! I kind of wish we have a early performance time, because I want to see all of the other bands in the area.
  2. This always makes me laugh when this happens. Especially when Mrs. Wood would yell over the long ranger. Good times.
  3. Anywayyy. Westfield's site shows them as doing UIL Region Marching. Are they jumping back into UIL for certain?
  4. they hosted along with the other BISD bands, so they were in exhibition. edit: beaten.
  5. Westlake and USSBA Hays ended, so we can talk about this now. Region 8, 18, and 26 all have 8 5A Bands, and 12 has 12. So there are 36 Bands. If they all get a one (possible), there would be *7* bands going to state, but there is likely going to be 6. It seems like quite a few good bands won't be going to Finals or State. Too many bubble bands.
  6. Why are Westfield and Langham Creek missing? Many people expected them to be in finals. Did they have really dirty performances?
  7. Does anybody know Westwood's musical selections, particularly their first movement? I couldn't recognize it and neither could my directors, but it sounded oddly familiar.
  8. Haha no. Just our special word for alternates. March at football games, but not competitions. And they fill in after we know who fails, if anybody fails.
  9. 49 Brass 70ish Woodwinds 14 Battery 16ish Pit 8 Pedestrians (Show concept) 12ish Guard. The other 15-20ish people are shadows or aces.
  10. Speaking of Spring, how is Dekaney High? Seeing the music history in their ISD, I'd assume that Dekaney is going to be next in a line of great bands.
  11. Leander has canceled the clinic planned this Saturday. I might be traveling for finals so i can get a grasp for Area D. If only I could get a ride!
  12. It's pretty much what our director told us. We tend to have our good performances when motivated (when a past director came back), or when not happy (Saturday). And Saturday's rehearsal was surprisingly efficient. We fixed all of our problems from that morning and actually improved regardless of the lack of (good) sleep and hectic schedule. Which is kind of funny in a way. But regardless, I think that all of us Leander kids have been humbled by this weekend.
  13. We had a rehearsal at Arlington Lamar later on BOA Arlington day and we had our best run-through of the show ever. We pretty much felt the same way.
  14. Does anybody know of Colleyville's placement? I was shocked when they didn't make it in. I hope this doesn't discourage them but encourage them as they go to Grand Nationals this year.
  15. To the kids at Cedar Park. Even though there is a friendly rivalry between us, that even gets not so friendly at times, all of us would have to admit that your show was amazing. I was standing up clapping really hard for you guys. I can't wait to see you guys at Area.
  16. So umm. Lindsey took what I wanted to say. So ditto, sincerely.
  17. 4 Open was 5th Bastrop 4th San Marcos 3rd Lake Travis 2nd Dripping Springs 1st Connally and we got 82.8
  18. We don't know. Best case scenario is we have it by Tuesday so we learn it that day.
  19. Our performance time was like 12:30 for Houston. The sun was rising when we left Leander. Well if we make top 5 we don't have to worry about going 1st ;D. But yay for a call time of like 2:30 next Saturday.
  20. Yet I wasn't here for Perilous Skies and those rediculous performance times. I'm not that used to it I think we can pull off a Haltom.
  21. nooooooooooooooooooooo why so early? it's not like it doesn't already take 3.5-4 hours to get there on buses :/ hmm. Lafayette dropped out. Travel I guess.
  22. That is truly amazing and special. That will be something remembered by all at state that day and in his program.
