  1. wow...that is awesome, and kinda freaky. If I were a judge, I would freak out and run away lol j/k. Bell is simply amazing, they come up with some stuff people wouldnt think of.
  2. if they go to GN, i am definately going! I must see the last part of the trilogy, although i only got to see the remaining live...oh well, hopefully i can
  3. not that this will be popular in most people's eyes, but i think they should perform in the result order of the previous part. For example, at a normal BOA event, the winner in prelims should perform last, 12-1 from prelims. At GN 12-1 from semi's. It just makes more sense to me to have the band that won prelims or semi's to have a slight advantage, but thats just me
  4. does this mean i have to get GN DVD too? lol
  5. yeah, i just think BOA is rewarding Non-winners now. Like last year Carmel, imo didnt have a 1st place show, but they hadnt won a GN, so they won. This year, BA hadnt won a GN, and won. So hopefully next time Reagan or Bell go to GN, they will get the win . Oh, and as for Marcus, they are awesome, I'm just getting a tad bit annoyed with the cute shows.
  6. exactly...Bell has NOTHING to be ashamed about. What a year for the marching arts
  7. I was talking about Marcus's show lol...Bell deserved 1st in my mind, no matter what scores are put out there lol
  8. yeah, I saw it at BOA SA, but i understand it was more of a UIL show
  9. idk...maybe they started this year? sorry if they're wrong, just copying and pasting
  10. scores are from BOA Forums from someone who is there live
  11. thats two years in a row Texas bands got ripped off! oh well, congrats to all on their achievements
  12. I agree, i mean 1st to 4th, odd....
  13. 1 96.75 Broken Arrow Sr. H.S., OK 2 96.35 L.D. Bell H.S., TX 3 95.00 Kennesaw Mountain H.S., GA 4 94.15 The Woodlands H.S., TX 5 93.30 Tarpon Springs H.S., FL 6 93.20 Lawrence Central H.S., IN 7 92.60 Avon H.S., IN 8 91.90 Carmel H.S., IN 9 90.90 Plymouth-Canton Ed. Park, MI 10 90.80 Winston Churchill H.S., TX 11 90.60 Marian Catholic H.S., IL 12 89.35 James Bowie H.S., TX
  14. so, pretty much block two is the block with most potential finalists. I am going to be sooo nervous tomorrow awaiting results! good luck to ALL 6 TX BANDS!
  15. ok, just look at this: 2000 State championship- Bell champion 2002-Bell silver medal 2004- Champion 2006-Silver medal 2008- Champion?
  16. UIL just needs to slow down and check everything multiple times by muiltple people when calculating placements...an extra minute would have eliminated this whole problem
  17. i think this should be the last straw for UIL, I mean the last 3 5A state contests have seen stuff like this, and this is just wrong. To basically lie to a band and have to revoke their medal (if this will even happen) is just wrong. The system NEEDS to be changed
  18. if you go by the tiebreaker method, it breaks down like this: Duncanville-10, 3, 2, 8, 2 Churchill- 8, 2, 6, 4, 5 Reagan- 2, 6, 8, 2, 7 Now from that you break it down to who is preferred out of those 3, thus: Duncanville- 3, 2, 1, 3, 1=10 Churchill- 2, 1, 2, 2, 2=9 Reagan- 1, 3, 3, 1, 3=11 Churchill clearly wins bronze medal
  19. churchill should be third with the tiebreaker
  20. sorry to burst your bubble, but no... lol. david, you are one crazy kid. I'm looking forward to seeing another Reagan masterpiece, as well as Bell
  21. probably not, and wont do anything about it either...this system sucks
  22. when there is a tie it comes down to "judges' preference" Thus, the ranking that each judge gave each band involved in the tie is used to determine which band each judge "preferred". from the UIL website http://www.uil.utexas.edu/music/scoring_procedure.html
