YES!....and then take up residence for a few years.

We were at Pennington last week for the HEB contest. Had to limit our attendance in prelims due to the severe heat, but come finals time, it was very comfortable. Hope you can still attend. Would love to hear your perspective of the Austin v. DFW competitions.

I don't see it as a BOA issue. While it may be up to them to figure it out...the state of CA has ownership in it as well.

Completely agree! At this point of the season, all vids are fair game. Competitions can't start soon enough!

I've noticed some bands, ie;...Vista Ridge and Timber Creek.....perform their shows without headgear. Is that a new trend? Just curious.

'Unofficial' UIL feedback was that the Central section of Area A...(Lubbock / Amarillo), complained of their lack of representation at the State level over the past 6-8 years.....ie: Politics.

to be honest....you could take your paragraph, substitute at least 6 other bands in the place of Rowlett and make the same case. You really can't have a logical discussion in a field that is very subjective.

If BOA SA attendance continues at this pace, they may want to consider inserting a Semi-Finals category. I know this could be a logistics challenge for the bands, but there are just too many good ones who deserve a second look!

Any chance you'll make it to thge Area A competition in Odessa? We promise plenty of food and drink!

I've walked through shiny, sparkling brand new schools in slum areas paid for by Title I money taken from larger more successful districts. The school has a budget to match many wealthier schools in the area, the teachers have higher salaries than practically anywhere else but their test scores are still low. Money was never the issue. It's the same ole "Entitlement Logic". Better yet....have every band in TX pool their funds into one central location and have it 'distributed' by the Austin Legislatures! If they really want to improve their programs....then go make it happen with fundraisers and community support and rather than excuses.
