I just want to say that I am sorry about last week in not having a COTW to post. Right now I am very busy, besides teaching all day long I just last week started a consulting job where I work 3-4 hours every night. Last week was the first week of this new job and I did not budget my time very well to where I could have time to post a new Composer and piece of the week. I do want to say that this week I have alloted time to to write those two articles and they will be up on Wed. and Fri. respectivly. -

Ok guys in order to give us something to do while we twiddle away the hours untill summer, when the DCI competitions start, I thought this might be fun. So this is how the game is played. Every Wed. I will post my COTW article in the TxBPress section of the site. On Thur., the next day, I will post 3 questions about facts from that specific composers life covered in the article. You will have untill 5:00 P.M. on Sat. to PM or E-mail, me your answers. At that time I will randomly choose 1-2 people who got the correct answers. These 1-2 people each week will then win any 1 CD they choose with works from that specific composer. They can pick from any of the works that that composer has written. So if you like the COTW articles and want to win some FREE CDs then make sure to look every WED. for the article, then every Thur. for the 3 questions to answer! Also if you have any specific composers you want to learn more about just let me know and I am sure I can include them, and give them a article!

What happened to.....?
Amusicman replied to BlinK Day 41's topic in TxBands Site Suggestions, Problems, and Questions
Well all you have to do is to wait for tonight. Tonight the next composer of the week will be posted, and on Friday the next piece of the week will be posted. You can find the Articles under TxBPress on the menu at the top of the screen. The delay has been that I have been contacting several record labels to try to get permission to post mp3's of their recordings. Unfortunately I was not able to find any company which would allow me to post their recordings on this site. So I will go back to posting the Composer and Piece of the week, their just will not be any professional recordings. However if anyone should happan to have a school recording, or a region band recording of any of the works I post please PM me so we can at least post that. -
