  1. has anyone ever done Lord of the Rings? It's one of the best movie scores around. But on a ridiculous scale, anyone heard or heard of Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin? It's really intense and unsettling. Super difficult though
  2. oh, someone just said that. I'm dumb
  3. They called churchill ignorant, but at the end of broadcast they say something like "The band will not perform the show again" as if we had a chance to do the show again. It has been over a week since our last performance. Of course we aren't going to perform the show again.
  4. Star 1991 and 1993 were unbelievable. Their mellophones were godly both years. And the drill was intense and really difficult. I think 93 had more emotion and effect, but 91 is a treat to watch every time. Also, Cadets 1997 had one of the best mello lines I've ever heard. It's a somewhat unheard of show, but those players were ridiculous
  5. that makes sense because I heard that we, Churchill, were first for prelims in 2004. then dropped all the way to 5th at finals. Just goes to show how much our activity relies on subjectivity.
  6. yeah, i definitely prefer star's medea to the blast. It's louder. and there is also a video of star rehearsing outside and they get the tempo to around 224. It looks ridiculous
  7. Originally we were gonna do Medea at 184 then speed up to 210. That ain't happenin. So we're about at yalls tempos. Our accelerando isn't quite as smooth as yalls, though. Btw, have you seen Star of Indiana do their Medea? Also check out a version they did with Blast. There's a video of them rehearsing it inside a gym, and they push it up to 230! Realy crazy
  8. yeah, I'm think CP's Medea is a lot stronger than ours. I'm not sure how much slower they do it than us, but not much. Regardless, theirs is cleaner and more blended. And has a bigger sound. But ours isn't that bad either
