  1. I went when it came by Houston on the 17th. It was pretty much AMAZING. Hahaha. Seriously, though. If you ever get a chance to go, then GO! It is TOTALLY worth it.
  2. Haha, indeed I diiiid! thank ya very much!
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, TODAY!! I feel so cool that my name is at the bottom of the board.
  4. HAHAHA SICK. Oh man. I can't even begin to imagine that.
  5. I agree...for some reason, it seems like Reagan just wasn't the "it" band this year. No offense or anything, I just never heard any hype about them this year as opposed to The Woodlands and Bell and such as opposed to previous years.
  6. I'm using iTunes 7...I don't get any errors or anything, it just won't appear. Er, what I mean is; I copied the link, pasted it into the import window, and it waits a few seconds and then the window goes away and it shows me iTunes, but the playlist doesn't appear anywhere. boo, iTunes, boo.
  7. MASHED POTATOES. mmmmm. What's your favorite holiday?
  8. Well, I know that. But out of curiosity, I've looked on websites (re: Crossmen & SCV) and they usually have some sort of statements for requirements for auditioning for like brass and such (ie: playing a piece, etc.). I just don't know what would be the replacement of that for someone auditioning with cymbals, since you can't really play a cymbal piece. Well, I suppose you could but...you know what I mean.
  9. Exactly how do cymbals audition for a corps?
  10. I'm 18 in 7 days [on the 29th]. GOODNESS. Haha. That's so crazy. I'm celebrating it with a big party...my family is into big parties haha. Mostly because all of my family dances. HEY! All you TxBand kids, come over. Hahaha. We can talk about band nerd stuff. Band nerd party! That'll be the theme.
  11. Pft, duh, helllllo. Woodlands this year also definitely gave me some chills. Some of the excerpts from Hide and Seek [the actual song, not the show] were just amazing. Especially the "Mmm what you say" verse; that definitely gave me chills.
  12. Most definitely L.D. Bell 2006. Westfield 2005 also gave me a few goosebumps, as did some parts of Reagan 2004/2005. Reagan was mostly due to the music, because I found a lot of it so...tranquil sounding? I don't know how to describe it. It just gave me goosebumps, but not in a creeped out way.
  13. We have actual lockers, with padlocks and all. The doors on them have rails. Well, actually, I do happen to have some photos handy...so here they are. Haha, I apologize in advance to any band kids that are included in these photos...they are of course only for use of educational purposes. As you can see, we have lots of different shapes and sizes, haha. People can also fit in many of them - even the really small ones, baha! We also have some really tall ones that go from the floor to the ceiling. Most of us use them as lockers instead of actually getting a school issued locker. So much easier, heh. As for cleanliness...usually during marching season, it smells pretty bad, haha. It gets pretty unbearable after practices with the masses of sweaty bodies, and since the locker room is it's own room with doors, when they lock it up the smell gets trapped in there...and let's just say, when you open it, it's not always so pretty. But last week leadership cleaned it all up and now it's pretty fantastic and pleasant. Haha! Aaaaanddddd...that would be our locker room.
  14. I agree. I mean, obviously there are always going to be the weaker ones and the stronger ones...but if the sole purpose of this all is educate kids about music, why would you deny the experience to some? Is it really that much work to just spend extra time with those who don't quite have the skill yet? I thought that was the whole point of teaching - to teach people things they don't know, and to help them gain full knowledge of it. Then again, perhaps easier said than done. But I still hold true to what I said.
