  1. dsgasgfgh THE WOODLANDS. *chokes and gasps for air* Well I'm sure The Woodlands wouldn't mind you sending me their video. I have been dying to see their show! Haha. I love my Imogen. And I was SO pissed at Lone Star when I found out I wasn't going to be able to watch their exhibition. Stupid retreat...haha. We were standing next to the gate that goes onto the field but I could barely hear the music because there were so many dang trees in the way (And not their prop trees, mind you - haha - but actual tree/bush things).
  2. Spriiiiiiiiiiiing High School.
  3. Indeed, Hendrickson had 82.65.....but they are 4A and therefore got 1st in 4A. The prelims that tnilli put up are for 5A. source: http://twhsband.com/Boosters/Fundraisers/L...P2006_Recap.htm as a side note, does anybody know what College Park got in prelims?
  4. Not really....the way we do it is, basically, everyones set looks like this: where the letter/number in the top left corner is your marching number and the bottom right corner is the set number. and its not like HUGE or anything....the marking is really supposed to be pretty small, basically so that when your feet are over it you cant really see it. works wonderfully
  5. Are the soloist scores correct? Spring won the Outstanding Soloist award...
  6. Ah....BOA SA how I will miss thee this year
  7. pretty awesome stuff, I must say.
  8. Hahaha this is an old thread but I figured I might as well reply.... We use 2 of the methods listed above. We have dots that are 4 steps apart each all across our practice field. So that helps make sure we are accurately in our set. Then we also use chalk to physically mark down our sets on the field....well the band uses chalk... My sophomore year, our drumline used soap to mark sets. It does amazing work. Unlike the chalk that washes away with rain, the soap actually stays! With each rain shower, of course, the marks get fainter and fainter but that makes it better. You can still find your set if you need and don't have to remark it, but it's not really there unless you look hard for it. I can still find most of my sets from our opener which we marked way back in late July haha. Soap does wonders. Drumline dropped the usage of soap, but we cymbals decided to be smart and we still use it. I love it. Very helpful!
  9. Random comment to box, but we did that same effect last year (We called it the "Doppler effect" ahha). Soooooo cool, I loved it.
  10. I'm digging your uniforms! I love them!
  11. Haha I was just about to comment on our new time. I just hope we can change/put everything up in time to go see Westfield perform. About the aux award....hrm. Well, smackthatrifle, not exactly sure who you heard that from or who it refers to...I mean, I'm not in guard, but I can't think of "vital people" that we lost other than seniors. We did lose our guard instructor, but we have a new one, so it's all good. I actually like what our guard does this year...there's a lot of dance sequences and neat stuff like that, and their outfits are better than they have been in the past. Looks like a good year for them. Our new guard instructor, by the way, is the former assitant guard director from Marcus.
  12. Oh! I read a review about your show! I thought the concept was really cool and unique, and I'm hoping perhaps somehow I'll get to see it. I'm sure the director felt stupid after realizing the drop was on purpose. Spring's pretty respectful, I think. The directors don't drill us on having to show respect for other bands, I think it's just something we all know. I hate bands/bds who don't show respect. That just shows how unclassy they and their band truly are.
  13. Ah, okay then. Congrats to Clements hahaha and heck yes your sister got an award. 4 awards at a contest....quite nice, I think. the show's going well. the crowd LOVED fugue/riffs, I think that was the highlight of yesterday's performance. they went pretty crazy, haha. can't wait for Saturday!
  14. Haven't really seen much this year yet to make any opinions...but from reviews, I'm excited to see: Woodlands Westfield Reagan L.D. Bell there's some others but I can't think of them off the top of my head...they'll come to me eventually unfortunately Spring isn't going to BOA SA this year...so I'm not sure if I will get to see all of the shows. I know I'll see Woodlands and Westfield at Lone Star, at least. Maybe I can convince my parents to take me to BOA SA
  15. RR has new uniforms? Well that's new haha I kid I kid. I saw Westfield rehearsing the other day, quite nice. [We both had rehearsals last Friday, so after ours, a few of us went to go see theirs]. Their new uniforms look nice. I think they also got new shakos? Anywho. Can't wait to actually see Westfield's show.
  16. I thought Langham Creek won Outstanding Guard? Maybe I'm wrong.
  17. I love marching band. Even though sometimes I hate how the rehearsals go - because of how the directors are acting, or the band, or the weather, or whatever - I love it. I have such a passion for it, and I will be very sad whenever I march my last show... Concert season, on the other hand...haha I hate with a passion. I find it EXTREMELY boring. Marching band you get to do all this awesome stuff and with all this energy, and I just feel like with concert season there's nothing like that. *shrugs*
  18. I think you meant Spring '04 instead of '05. We didn't have a singer in '05 but '04....as much as I disliked that show, I still love it.

  20. Just finished today, actually. Well that is unless they decide to change more drill, haha.
  21. hahaha, at first I didn't see the bottom of your post and I was like....WHAT? bahaha. nice one.
  22. Spring's show is called The Colors Underneath. I won't say anything else though, you can see it this weekend.
  23. 04....is that Reverberate? If so, I know where you can view a low quality but still good 'nuff version of the show.
  24. I know! It's so irritating. It's like one minute you think you've finally got everything under control, and then they hand you a new piece of music or new coordinates. Gah. Like, on Tuesday I think, they gave us some new drill for our 2nd movement. Which we learned WAAAY ago. And to be honest, I don't really see the point of them changing those coordinates but...whatever. Haha. Besides, I guess all the constant changing and how the band reacts with it is a good indicator of how good that band really is. But it's still annoying. Hahaha.
  25. Hm...well we have 95% of our show done, we just have a few more sets to learn for the closer. A lot of our music and drill keeps getting re-written, so that's kinda been holding us back. Our show is pretty good...the music is pretty exciting. Our opener is different than what it's usually been and so I like that. I love our 2nd and 3rd movements because they're fast and very different from what we've played in the past. Our ballad and closer are okay, they're probably the dirtiest at the moment. But they're the most recent ones we've added so it's obviously expected. But when everything is all cleaned up and prettied up and all the visuals are in, I think our show will actually be pretty dang exciting and good. MUCH better than last year and the year before... Not gonna lie though...I can't wait to see Woodlands and Westfield. Woodlands mostly because I love the song Hide & Seek and I can't wait to see what they're doing with it. And Westfield because their homecoming was last night and some of my friends went and said their show is awesome. And Reagan. Just 'cause.
