awww, that's not cool. all the texas bands [minus us] go in the first block on friday! -
What do yall think the possibility of the Crossmen getting a new uniform design being? it'd be a cool change to go along with the location change. and on that note, do corps get a new set of uni's every year? because they can't possibly have the same set for a certain amount of years because not all the members are the same size... well anyway. Crossmen? New Uni's???

no, it's other people talking about the series. the movies. all kinds of stuff.

Right... we both went to Westview, we know. It's still in Austin. Personally, if he says Pflugerville, I don't care. no biggie.

I know what you mean about not being used to it. Connally played Fire of Eternal Glory about 5 years ago [Phantom 13yrs] and I think it sounds much better without battery or a back beat. I think it takes away from the winds because that could be soooo beautiful. And this is coming from a percussionist. I like my far share of rams, but not in Fire of Eternal Glory. I think i'll have to hear it again to like it... or understand it. but im right with ya on the sounds odd part. -
i agree, but i think i would have liked to come away from that show thinking about something else besides the reoccurring arrow sets and the dance. although i was really impressed by the dance portion, i feel like that's all i remember. it was sooo together! that's what stood out to me. it was musically solid from what i remember. but like i said, all i remember is the DDR dance. you'll be remember as that band that did DDR. but hey, at least you'll be remembered.

We have a percussion room. It's called "The Cave". and there are slots for the drums that we end up druming on anyway. They have pretty good rebound, actually. but yeah, they're carpeted [the slots] and there are lockers too. so we basically live in there.

pwned.

I'm pretty sure brass/wind people don't know anything about sticks... much less brands... only that they're made out of wood. And that's not even true.

i am going have to say attitude 100%. the difficulty in working with kids that don't care or have behavioral problems is not worth it even if they do have talent. with a group that cares, there is room for improvement. with those who don't, you can only be so good, and at that point it becomes monotonous because there is no will to be better.

there wasn't one band in finals that didn't march and play the heck out of their show. being flashy is just a plus. they can play, march AND have the bells and whistles. that shows much more than just marching and playing. not that marching and playing isn't a crucial part. you can't just go and do magic tricks and expect to make finals.

I really loved the concept of L.D. Bell's show when I heard it. but when I saw it I was even more than before... It's so creepy! I love it, and I can't wait to see them at the SA Super Regional. -

im going to have to strongly disagree with you on this point. the organization it takes to run a band of that size requires a tremendous amount of work. not anyone can do it. and sounding loud is not the only aspect of large bands. it's harder to clean drill and it takes more attention to each form. the show design is also a little bit more complicated due to the fact that you have to have 200 people buy what you're doing so that they can sell it to a judge/audience effectively. it doesn't "take more" for a smaller band. im sorry. i think it takes equal amount of effort on the individual who's marching. not matter how big the band.
