Hey im from seguin and i know that yall already know what we are goin to play but men was it a hard decision to choose which song we wanted to play. Im going to list each song that we sight read and which ones we actually picked. For March: Pineapple Poll Movement 1 or Movement 4, we chose 4 (like 1 better) For 2nd song: Molly on the shore, Symphony for band by persichetti, and Fantasies on a theme by Haydn ( i loved the haydn song but it didnt win), we chose molly on the shore. For 3rd piece: Chester, Overture to Candide, and Festive Overture ( i voted for Festive overture but it didnt win), we chose Overture to Candide. Use the private message feature rather than hi-jacking the thread. Thanks, Moose. -

bored2damax replied to Amusicman's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
We will be doing honor band but we dont get our UIL music till after Februar 2 because we have a winter concert. Winter concert is different from christmas concert. well the songs that we are going to be playing for wintert concert are "Allerseelen" by Richard Strauss, "Fanfare for a Festival" by Carl Strommen, "Whirr, Whirr, Whirr!!!" by Ralph Hulfgren, "Echoes" by Samuel R. Hazo, and another song. We didnt get the last song because we had to leave for christmas break and our deirector just ordered the song. -
Solo & Ensemble
bored2damax replied to TRtrumpet's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Um i play a baritone and i might do a solo between Minuet-Scherzo by Joseph De Luca if it is on the list . If it is not on the list im probably going to play Beautiful Colorado (Valse Caprice) by Joseph De Luca. Wow that was kind of ironic, i didnt even notice till now that both solos were written by the same composer. thats just really weird. -

In Seguin High we had 2 baritones march madison scouts since their junior year they graduated this past year 2005, then we had a baritone march last year in blue knights but she graduated in 2004, then her boyfriend march blue coats and also played baritone but he graduated 2000, then we had a colorguard march glassmen and she graduated 2005, then we have a snare that march crossmen i think and his graduting this year. Oh when i said that they graduated, i meant out of high school, only one of them has age out in that list. I am planning to march blue knights this year i got a call back and im planning to go this month. Also we have 6 colorguards doing glassmen and all og them have gotten a callback, and finally we have one trombone thats trying out for a baritone in the cavaliers and he got a call back. thats it i think.

There's one based here in my hometown. I dont know if they're still doing it, but they just started last year. Theyre called Trinity Drum Corp. Dont know anything about them. Now my story, Well i tried out for Blue Knights in their November camp and got a call back. Im going again this month on the 16th.
